Chapter 3 - The Library Meeting

The college library was one of the quietest places on campus.

Tall shelves filled with books stood in long rows, and the soft sound of pages turning filled the air. For Riya, this place felt peaceful and comfortable.

After her classes ended, Riya walked toward the library as she usually did.

She chose a table near the window and opened one of her favorite books.

Outside, the sky was slowly turning orange as the sun began to set.

Everything felt calm.

But suddenly, a familiar voice interrupted the silence.

"So you really do spend a lot of time here."

Riya looked up.

Aryan was standing a few steps away from her table.

She felt slightly surprised.

"You came here," she said quietly.

Aryan smiled.

"I told you I might."

He pulled a chair and sat down across from her.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Riya returned her attention to her book, but she could feel Aryan occasionally looking at her.

Finally, Aryan said, "You really like reading, don't you?"

Riya nodded.

"Books are peaceful."

Aryan leaned back slightly in his chair.

"I wish I liked studying as much as you do."

Riya looked at him curiously.

"You don't like studying?"

Aryan laughed softly.

"I do… but not as much as you."

Riya couldn't help smiling a little.

The conversation between them slowly became more natural.

They talked about classes, teachers, and even their favorite movies.

For the first time, Riya felt completely comfortable talking to someone she had only met a few days ago.

But something about Aryan still felt mysterious.

There were moments when he suddenly became quiet, as if he was thinking about something serious.

After a while, Riya asked gently, "Why did you transfer to this college?"

Aryan was silent for a few seconds.

Then he said, "My family moves a lot."

Riya noticed his expression change slightly.

It looked like there was more to the story, but he didn't want to talk about it.

So she didn't ask further.

The evening grew darker outside the library windows.

Students slowly started leaving.

Riya closed her book and began packing her bag.

Aryan stood up as well.

"Are you going home?" he asked.

"Yes."

"I'll walk with you," Aryan said.

Riya looked surprised again.

"You don't have to."

"I know," Aryan replied with a smile.

"But I want to."

They walked out of the library together.

The campus was quieter now, and the cool evening air felt refreshing.

As they walked side by side, neither of them realized that their simple friendship was slowly turning into something much deeper.

But at the same time, secrets from Aryan's past were still hidden.

Secrets that could soon change everything.
