Chapter 6 - Chapter 5 - The Final Farewell

To the sound of the helicopter landing at the Aurora Borealis Mansion, Moon's thoughts were no longer the same. After ten days traveling around the world, Moon felt she had returned home, but not to the same life.

During her time of freedom, she had thrown herself headfirst into adventure. A flashback played through her mind.

Moon had danced at street festivals in Japan, tasting the most exotic kaiseki cuisine and buying millennia-old sakes.

In Egypt, she didn't just admire the pyramids; she bought every spice and seasoning she could find.

In Italy, she indulged in pasta and wine, acquiring the ingredients to replicate everything inside her magical dimension.

In cosmopolitan cities, she bought clothes from every brand and style, from haute couture to streetwear, and also invested in traditional outfits and exotic costumes, laughing at the thought of wearing them in what she was planning.

At Moon's request, Lucy had hired a team of specialists to digitize the world's libraries. They collected as much content as possible: from bestsellers to medical and engineering texts, from TV series to anime and novels of every genre.

Moon wasn't just hoarding physical resources; she was gathering the knowledge and culture of an entire civilization.

Back in the present, Moon felt renewed.

Without the weight of the empire, she was ready for farewell.

She summoned Lucy, a few lawyers, and the mansion staff for a meeting.

The living room, imposing and silent, was heavy with tension.

"I called you here today to make my legacy official,"

Moon began, her voice steady.

She handed out documents.

To the lawyers, the orders were clear: transfer 300 billion dollars to Lucy, 50 billion to her nephews (Lucy's children), 200 billion to the mansion staff who had raised her, and 150 billion to genuine social projects around the world, which would be Lucy's responsibility.

The final revelation was the most shocking.

"And the Aurora Borealis Mansion will belong to Lucy. My home is yours now."

Everyone was stunned; some of the employees were already crying.

"Stop that,"

Moon said, with a slight smile.

"It's not like I'm going to die. I'm going to live a free life now, travel the world. I just hope you're happy and well for the rest of your lives. That, yes, will be my legacy."

The emotion was palpable. With hearts full of gratitude, everyone left, leaving Moon and Lucy alone.

Lucy, her face bathed in tears, was the only one who stayed.

"So... we're really never going to see each other again?"

she asked, her voice trembling.

Moon hugged her tightly.

"Lu, I hope you live well without me. I love you so much, and I love the boys too. But you, more than anyone, know that I need this. A new adventure, a new beginning in a new world where no one knows me. A place where I can be more than the Light family's orphan."

Moon stepped back, a mischievous gleam in her eyes.

"And you know, right... buff and handsome men for me to hunt. I'll finally have my harem. 🤤"

Moon's laughter echoed through the room, and Lucy couldn't resist, laughing along with her.

"My God, Moon, you're impossible,"

Lucy said, trying to control both her tears and her amusement.

"Always a random joke to make me stop crying. Now it makes sense why you accepted so quickly. All of this because of your obsession with reverse harem novels!"

"You know me, Lu,"

Moon replied, her smile genuine.

"I never do anything without calculating it very carefully... and the idea of going to a new world where I can be whoever I want, honestly, is too good to pass up."

Time slipped away. The last conversation gave way to a comforting silence.

The final hours were pure friendship.

Then, a bright light filled the place. A gentle yet energetic voice echoed.

[Hibernation complete. Time to embark on an otherworldly adventure. Pff, sorry, I had to say that.]

Boing said, laughing.

[Now seriously, Moon. There's no turning back. But don't worry, I'll be with you the whole time. Literally. I mean it, I live on your forehead, you know? So I'll be with you alllll the tiiiime.]

"I got it, Boing,"

Moon said, rolling her eyes 🙄.

"We're one now. And as insane as all this is, it's comforting to know you're with me."

[I feel the same, Moon. You're the best host I could ever choose, without a doubt... So, let's go.]

Moon looked at Lucy one last time. With a smile on her face, she said goodbye.

"Don't cry, Lu. I'll be with you in your best memories. I love you, Lu."

Both of them said at the same time:

"To infinity and beyond..."

And, in a shining golden light, Moon was gone.
