Chapter 1 - The Echo of Unspoken Words

The city of Oakhaven was draped in a perpetual twilight lit only by the neon glow of 'Memory Bars '.Here, the wealthy bought childhood summers they never had, while the broken sold their most precious tragedies just to afford a meal.

Elara sat in her dim-lit studio, the air thick with the scent of ozone and old paper. Across from her sat Julian, a man whose eyes were as empty as a hollowed-out book. He was a high-ranking official who had voluntarily erased his past to survive a political coup. Now, he wanted it back.

"It will cost you, Julian, "Elara whispered, her fingers dancing over a glass vial containing a swirling, silver mist-his discarded soul. "But it will cost me more. "The drama unfolded as Elara began the 'stitching '. As the silver mist entered Julian's temple, Elara felt a part of her soul tearing away. She saw her mother's face, the smell of rain on dry earth, the sound of a lullaby-all fading into a grey void.

But as Julian's memories returned, he didn't feel relief. He felt the crushing weight of a dark secret he had tried to hide from himself:he was the one who had ordered the destruction of Elara's family years ago.

The room turned cold. Julian looked at Elara, his eyes now filled with agonizing recognition and guilt. Elara looked back at him, her expression blank. She had given away the Memory of her family's tragedy to save the man who caused it. She no longer knew why she hated him. She no longer knew who she was.

"Thank you, kind stranger, "Elara said with a hollow smile, the ultimate sacrifice of a weaver.

Julian stood frozen, trapped in a prison of his own regained memories, staring at the woman who had saved his mind but lost her soul to his sins. The drama wasn't in the recovery of the past, but in the silence that followed it.
