The Girl Everyone Used
Lena Carter had always believed her friends cared about her.
She was the one who helped them with homework, lent them money when they were broke, and listened to their problems late at night. But one afternoon, she discovered the truth.
Lena stood outside the classroom door when she heard their voices.
"Lena is so easy to use," her best friend Vanessa laughed.
"She thinks we actually like her," another girl said.
Her heart dropped.
She pushed the door open slowly.
The room went silent.
"Is it true?" Lena asked, her voice shaking.
Vanessa rolled her eyes. "Come on, Lena. You didn't actually think we were your real friends, did you?"
The girls burst out laughing.
Humiliated, Lena grabbed her bag and ran outside, tears blurring her vision.
That was the day she promised herself something.
One day… she would never be weak again.
