Chapter 1 - A LOVE THAT GREW WITH TIME

CHAPTER 1

In a small town surrounded by rivers and green fields, there lived a boy named Aryan. He was a quiet and thoughtful boy who loved reading books and dreaming about his future. Aryan believed that life had many beautiful surprises waiting for those who were patient.

In the same town lived a girl named Maya. She was cheerful, kind, and always smiling. Maya loved painting and often spent her evenings sitting near the river, watching the sunset and filling her notebook with colorful sketches.

One day, fate decided to bring their worlds together.

It was the first day of college. Aryan walked into the classroom feeling a little nervous. As he looked around for a place to sit, he noticed an empty seat beside a girl who was quietly drawing something in her notebook.

He sat down and politely said, "Hi."

The girl looked up, smiled warmly, and replied, "Hello."

That was the first time Aryan met Maya.

At first, they were just classmates. They talked about studies, shared notes, and sometimes helped each other with difficult assignments. Aryan noticed that Maya had a beautiful way of looking at the world. She saw beauty in the smallest things — the sound of rain, the colors of the sky, and the laughter of children playing in the streets.

Slowly, their friendship grew stronger.

Every day after college, they walked home together. They talked about their dreams, their fears, and their plans for the future. Aryan wanted to become an engineer and build things that could help people. Maya dreamed of becoming an artist whose paintings would inspire others.

One evening, they sat near the river watching the sunset.

The sky was painted with shades of orange and pink. Maya was sketching the view while Aryan watched the reflection of the sky in the water.

"Do you think dreams really come true?" Maya asked softly.

Aryan smiled and said, "Yes… if someone works hard enough and believes in them."

Maya looked at him and smiled. That moment felt special, though neither of them said anything more.

Months passed, and their friendship became the most important part of their lives. They supported each other through exams, family problems, and difficult days.

But somewhere deep inside Aryan's heart, his feelings for Maya had changed.

He was no longer just her friend.

He had fallen in love with her.

However, Aryan was afraid to tell her. He didn't want to lose their friendship. So he kept his feelings hidden and continued to treat her with the same kindness and care as always.

One day, Maya noticed that Aryan seemed quieter than usual.

"Is something wrong?" she asked.

Aryan hesitated for a moment before replying, "No… everything is fine."

But Maya knew him too well to believe that.

A few days later, Maya asked Aryan to meet her at the river in the evening.

When Aryan arrived, the sky was slowly turning golden with the setting sun. Maya stood near the water, holding her sketchbook.

She turned to him and said, "I finished something today."

She showed him a painting. It was a beautiful picture of the river, the sunset, and two people sitting side by side.

Aryan looked closely and realized the two people in the painting were them.

"Why did you paint this?" he asked quietly.

Maya smiled softly.

"Because this place… and these moments… are the happiest parts of my life."

Aryan felt his heart beating faster.

Then Maya looked at him and said something that surprised him.

"Aryan, I know you've been hiding something from me."

Aryan felt nervous. "What do you mean?"

Maya laughed gently. "You think I wouldn't notice?"

She took a deep breath and continued.

"The truth is… I've been hiding something too."

Aryan looked confused.

Maya looked into his eyes and said, "I think I started loving you a long time ago."

For a moment, Aryan couldn't believe what he had just heard.

All the words he had been afraid to say suddenly came out.

"Maya… I love you too."

They both laughed with relief and happiness.

It felt as if the entire world had suddenly become brighter.

From that day on, their relationship became even stronger. They continued supporting each other's dreams. Aryan worked hard to become an engineer, while Maya continued improving her art.

Years later, Aryan helped build a clean water system for many villages, and Maya became a well-known artist whose paintings told stories of hope and love.

But no matter how busy life became, they never forgot the small river in their hometown where their story truly began.

Sometimes they still visited that place together, watching the sunset just like they did when they were young.

Because their love wasn't just about big promises or dramatic moments.

It was about friendship, patience, trust, and growing together.

And that kind of love… lasts forever.
