A nice night, hotel, comfortable. May and her friend Leah. Just as normal, fine, okay even.
"Why did you stop putting as much effort in theater May?" Leah asked confused.
"Because I just quit." May had answered. You could tell she didn't really want to talk about it.
"No, really why." Leah questioned once again.
May; really didn't want to answer this. "Because i didn't get picked." May quickly answered there was something she didn't want to say.
"Well that's not a good enough reason, why did you?" Leah was persistent.
"Because I didn't get picked, I wasn't good enough." May said with tears slowly entering her eyes like a leaky tap.
May continued "I wasn't good enough, and that made me feel as if I never mattered. So I left because no matter how many speeches about how; you're still apart of it. It really doesn't feel like it."
May said, tears threatening to pour out like an overfilled bucket. "So yeah I left."
May said before; silence. "I'm sorry…" Leah said.
"It doesn't matter." May replied back wiping her tears away. But something had changed; she wasn't as happy as she was earlier.
But Leah left it at that because prying got her to this point with May; she shouldn't push anymore.
And so the night was left with a silence that held more than a hundred words could say.
