Maya's POV
Penny stared at me with complete bewilderment, her eyebrows knitted together as she struggled to understand what I was telling her.
"I still don't get it." She folded her arms across her chest. "If you think you're pregnant, that would definitely explain why you've been sick and all over the place emotionally, but what does any of that have to do with not being able to tell Sebastian how you feel?"
I dragged my hands across my face, knowing full well that my carefully applied makeup was probably streaked beyond repair at this point.
"Have you already forgotten that Sebastian has zero interest in becoming a father?" The words came out as barely more than a breath. "He's never wanted children. He couldn't have been clearer about that."
