Chapter 2 - The Dead man's trap part 1

All four boys were staking their claim to make Triveni their wife.

Triveni had come to the hotel wearing burqa and only at her say-so, all four boys had put on fake beard and mustache. So that all five of them could succeed in hiding their identity.

Sitting on the bed, Triveni picked up apple from the table and, looking at them, said—"Please bring a knife."

"Manish, who was sitting at the very end of the sofa, got up and went out after opening the door."

Half a minute after his departure, Triveni started eating apple even without a knife.

Two minutes later, Manish brought knife but Triveni had almost finished apple.

Signaling to keep the knife on the table, Triveni said—"Today you four are going to play with death—we have come to a picnic spot far from the city and are staying in a hotel—this hotel is built on top of a hill—and the window which is exactly behind you, as soon as it opens, there is a gorge more than two hundred feet deep below—I have hung a strong rope from the window into that gorge—all four of you will have to descend with the help of the rope—as soon as you descend, I will pull that rope up—after descending from the rope, you will have no other way except to descend the long slope below—that several kilometers long dangerous slope will take you straight into a dense forest—and if there is any way from there to come back to this picnic spot, then it is only this window—therefore, after reaching the forest, you will have to find some human settlement or road after covering a long distance—so that you can know the correct facts of your location—if you are unable to find any human settlement or road, then death is certain—only after finding a human settlement will you be able to know which paths can be crossed to reach this picnic spot again."

After telling all this, Triveni became silent and looking at those four, she spoke further while smiling—"I know that you four are completely unaware of this dense forest—towards which direction which human settlement or road can be reached, you certainly would have no idea about this—I am in this very hotel—the one among you who reaches me first, he alone will be my husband."

After understanding the deadly competition, the bodies of those four friends became drenched with sweat.

The fear inside them was clearly reflecting on their faces.
