(LIAM'S POV)
"Come at me!" Vera laughed, her claws sliding free as she raised her hands, daring the first person foolish enough to get within her reach.
Then, with one violent crack, the barrier Beau had been fighting so hard to seal finally shattered.
Beau cried out—a sharp, broken sound that tore through the room as if something inside him had been ripped apart. The portal split open.
And demons poured through.
Not one. Not ten. Hundreds.
They flooded into the room like a living black tide, spilling across the floor, smashing into furniture, crawling up the walls and clinging to the ceiling. Within seconds, there was barely any space left to stand. Smoke and sulfur choked the air, mixed with the sickening stench of rot.
"Natalie!" I shouted. "The children—get them out!"
"Run!" Natalie roared, already sinking her teeth into a demon's throat. She ripped free and shoved the creature aside. "Liam! Take them and run!"
I didn't wait.
