Chapter 1 - The Shadow in the Old Mansion

Chapter 1: The House at the Edge of the Village

At the far end of Blackwood Village stood a mansion no one dared to enter. The house was older than anyone could remember. Its windows were cracked, its wooden doors were covered in dust, and wild vines climbed its dark stone walls like creeping fingers.

The villagers called it The Whispering House.

Every night, when the wind blew through the broken windows, strange sounds echoed across the fields. Some said it was just the wind. Others believed it was something far more frightening.

Sixteen-year-old Arman had heard the stories all his life. But unlike the others, he did not believe in ghosts.

Until one evening, everything changed.

Chapter 2: The Daring Challenge

One afternoon, Arman and his friends sat near the tea stall, laughing and sharing stories. When the topic of the mansion came up, his friend Rafi dared him.

"If you're so brave," Rafi said, "spend one night in that house."

The others gasped. No one had ever entered the mansion after sunset.

Arman laughed confidently. "Fine. I'll go tonight."

As the sun began to set, a strange nervousness crept into his heart. The sky turned orange, then purple, and finally deep black.

With only a flashlight in his hand, Arman walked toward the mansion.

Chapter 3: The First Whisper

The front door creaked loudly as he pushed it open.

Inside, the air was cold — unnaturally cold. Dust floated in the beam of his flashlight. The floorboards groaned under his footsteps.

Suddenly—

Whispering.

Soft. Slow. Almost like someone calling his name.

"Armaaan…"

He froze.

His heart pounded loudly in his chest. He told himself it was just his imagination.

But then the door slammed shut behind him.

Chapter 4: The Girl in White

Arman turned quickly, shining the flashlight around the room.

That was when he saw her.

At the top of the staircase stood a pale girl in a white dress. Her long black hair covered most of her face. She was not moving.

Not breathing.

Just standing.

The temperature dropped even more. Arman tried to speak, but his voice failed him.

The girl slowly lifted her head.

Her eyes were completely black.

The flashlight flickered.

And went out.

Chapter 5: The Hidden Truth

In total darkness, Arman felt a cold wind circle around him.

Then, surprisingly, a soft voice spoke again — but this time, it did not sound angry.

"Help me…"

The voice sounded sad.

Trembling, Arman turned his flashlight back on. The girl was now closer, but she did not seem dangerous. She looked… trapped.

On the wall behind her was an old painting. It showed the same girl, smiling, standing beside a tall man.

Under the painting were the words:

"Eliza Blackwood — 1892."

Arman suddenly remembered a story his grandfather once told him — about a rich man whose daughter mysteriously disappeared inside the mansion.

No one ever found her.

Chapter 6: The Secret Room

Gathering his courage, Arman followed the girl up the staircase. She moved silently, almost floating.

At the end of the hallway was a locked wooden door.

The girl pointed toward it.

Arman pushed the door open.

Inside was a small hidden room. Broken furniture. Old chains on the wall.

And in the corner…

A small diary.

Arman opened it with shaking hands. The diary revealed a terrible truth: Eliza's own father had locked her inside the room to hide a family secret. She had been trapped there for days.

Alone.

Forgotten.

Chapter 7: The Final Goodbye

Tears filled Arman's eyes.

"You just want someone to know the truth," he whispered.

The ghost girl slowly nodded.

"I promise," Arman said bravely. "I will tell everyone."

The room suddenly filled with warm light. The coldness disappeared.

For the first time, the girl smiled.

Her dark eyes turned soft and normal. Her body slowly faded into glowing dust, like fireflies in the night.

And then—

She was gone.

Chapter 8: The Morning After

The next morning, Arman told the villagers everything. At first, they did not believe him.

But when they searched the mansion, they found the hidden room and the diary.

The truth finally came out.

The mansion was no longer feared.

And from that day forward, the whispers stopped.

But sometimes, on very quiet nights, when the wind passes gently through the trees, some say they can still hear a soft voice —

Not crying.

Not angry.

But peaceful.
