Chapter 20 - Hate

"Bruh, you've got issues," I heard Silver say, looking at me like I was some kind of filth.

"Save your advice, you need it more than I do," I continued eating.

I ignored the blatant hostile glare I was getting from Ariana, who had realized how flat her plan to make me jealous, or whatever, had fallen.

"How do you know my boyfriend?" I heard Selena ask, and I could see Rizel listening with interest.

'What the fuck is she still doing here?'

Sigh.

If I didn't know she was secretly an M, I would have said some downright immoral shit to get her off my back. But that won't work. Hurting her only makes her more into you.

"So you guys are in a relationship?" I heard Eloisa say, returning with a tray of food.

"Yes, well, he asked me out, literally on his knees begging. I couldn't bring myself to say no," she said, and I just kept eating at this point.

There was no point contesting that. If I tried, she might just target my balls again. Plus, if this gets this girl off my back, I'm game.

"Hm, I didn't know you were quite the romantic fellow," Silver laughed, nudging me.

Sigh.

I forgot about this idiot.

Well, whatever.

"Really?" Eloisa asked, finally looking straight into my eyes. I could see her lips twitching, her smile barely holding on.

"Why do you care? Shouldn't you be with your fiancé right now?" I took a gamble with my life and said it to her face.

And then her smile fell.

"Oh, she's engaged?" Selena suddenly asked.

'Huh? Why does she sound happy about that?'

Come to think of it, while I was still in that cursed place with Selena, I did tell her about Eloisa and the others. So why is she acting like this is the first time she's ever heard of them?

'Could this have been her plan all along? To establish herself as my girlfriend while making sure the animosity continues?'

Well, that isn't really a problem anyway.

"Yeah," I replied, finishing the last of my food.

"You can order more," said Selena, but I knew if I ate anymore in here it was straight-up indigestion. The pressure is just fucking too much.

"You know, I found a certain someone," I heard Eloisa say. "She might have been the one you thought I was."

My smile vanished.

"Where?" My voice came out cold.

"Long gone. She appeared a year after you disappeared," she said, and I could see Rizel literally trying to etch every word into her mind. Even Ariana looked surprised.

"Where?" I asked again.

[It's probably to my advantage to not tell you this… but I will. You have to get out of here, the dark energy is already sufficient.]

I didn't need it to tell me. I had already felt that familiar feeling, that strange feeling that turns my eyes amethyst with it. But I can't stop myself. Once it's something to do with her, I lose control.

"As I said… gone," she said once more, then started eating.

"Um… who are you guys talking about?" Ariana asked, sensing the cold atmosphere.

"Gone where?" I asked.

"To hell," she replied, then smiled crazily.

'Wait. No. That's not possible. How did I fall for such a cheap trick? There's no way in hell she found her before I did.'

"You killed her," I heard myself say, and froze.

No. It can't be.

"And I'll help you do it for a second time," she said, and I totally blanked out.

[Ryan! GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!]

"You…" I stuttered.

"I can tell you her name," she said. "If you don't believe me."

"She told me herself," she added, her grin widening. "Not willingly, though."

All I could do was stare at her. This can't be happening. I searched for three whole years and now I'm being told she was there all along?

THIS CAN'T BE FUCKING HAPPENING.

"What did you do to her?"

"Are you deaf?"

"What?"

"I…" she started, then stood up and smiled. "Renay. That was her name."

"What are you guys… talking about?" The voice faded.

I was blank.

I WILL KILL HER.

I WILL FUCKING KILL HER.
