Wen Yangxi was old and experienced. After realizing how difficult it would be to deal with Chen Che, he immediately prepared a countermeasure.
He used a Secret Technique to awaken the Clawed Flood Dragon that had been injured by the Flood Dragon Tooth earlier, made it devour its twin from the same egg, and then used another Secret Technique to force it to burn through its potential.
His main body kept fighting fiercely with Chen Che to prevent him from discovering the scheme. When the time was right, he openly goaded Chen Che, who was also unable to land a decisive blow, suggesting they both use their ultimate techniques to settle the fight in one move. In reality, it was a diversion.
It wasn't just Chen Che.
Over ninety percent of Cultivators would have made the same choice and fallen into the trap.
Chen Che was indeed unaware of Wen Yangxi's methods.
