Before they departed, Zheng Xiu made a point of laying down ten rules for Huo Huo.
For example: his men would only take orders from him; his daily life would be managed entirely by Feng Bei; he needed to sleep in the same tent as Feng Bei; he would decide his own meals; and if his itinerary deviated, Huo Huo was not to question it.
After Zheng Xiu listed all ten, the straightforward Huo Huo simply nodded and agreed.
Zheng Xiu then threw out an eleventh rule: Forgetting the first ten was forgivable, but the eleventh must be remembered and never, ever broken. And that was: never, ever, *ever* provoke the Orange Cat, especially by touching the fried fish cakes on its back.
Huo Huo didn't understand this, figuring only that the Red King was a cat lover and nothing more.
For the Red King's sake, he would leave Mao'er alone.
But if he did touch it, was the little kitty really going to bite him?
