The sky was torn asunder.
The first thing to emerge was a massive limb, its tip sharp and its surface covered in barbed spines.
An invisible storm erupted as the limb pierced through, whipping the bonfire beneath the starry sky into a frenzy. The kneeling "figures" all around flickered and swayed.
But the figures were clearly unfazed by this discomfort.
As the storm hit, they erupted in a cheer that was like a crashing tsunami: "We welcome our god! Please, our god, enjoy your feast!"
Some figures even prostrated themselves on the ground, weeping tears of joy. "Our god, this sinner has prayed for a thousand years and now finally beholds your divine form... SOB, SOB... How fortunate this sinner is!"
As it wept, the figure suddenly sat up, reached out with a sharp hand, plunged it into its own chest, and tore.
RRRIP!
The ethereal figure was torn apart just like that.
