Up ahead, Wu Liangchen suddenly veered left and vanished.
Yin Jiu froze. It was only when he rushed forward that he saw it—a maintenance tunnel.
He hesitated at the entrance for a moment, but anger and the thought of the immense reward just within his grasp soon took over.
Before charging in, however, he left a mark at the entrance so those following behind could find their way.
The maintenance tunnel was narrow and thick with dust. Before long, Yin Jiu was covered in grime.
But after rounding a bend, he saw Wu Liangchen standing just a short distance away, watching him with a cold gaze.
A shiver went down Yin Jiu's spine, but he showed no trace of fear on his face.
"Kid, finally realize you can't escape? Giving up without a fight?" Yin Jiu taunted, all while secretly gathering his power for a sneak attack.
"Escape? Why would I escape?" Wu Liangchen asked calmly, a cold, mocking smile playing on his lips.
"Huh?" Yin Jiu grunted, taken aback.
