Aria's mind reeled. She didn't understand what Damian Xavier meant—or perhaps, she didn't dare believe his words meant what she thought they did. Her mind was a complete jumble, and she had no idea what she was doing anymore.
When she finally snapped out of it and turned to ask Damian what he meant, he was already far away. All she could see was his back as he headed toward the hospital's payment office. The doctor had also left at some point. 'He must have sent him away,' Aria figured.
The tip of her nose tingled as she fought back tears, watching his retreating figure, completely at a loss.
Aria Sterling stood rooted to the spot, watching the back of the man who was off arranging the payment for the surgery.
'He just told me this isn't a transaction. So why is he being so good to me?'
Aria was utterly bewildered by Damian's actions. For a moment, she couldn't make sense of it at all.
