They returned to the car. Aria Sterling was silent, her head bowed, lost in thought. Damian Xavier had no choice but to break the silence:
"Silly, don't be upset. I won't marry her, and I won't let you become the other woman. Don't believe a word she says. One day, I'll deal with my father, I'll deal with Zoe Alden, and I'll deal with this engagement. Don't overthink things right now. Our future will be much better, okay?"
With that, he planted a soft kiss on Aria Sterling's forehead. Aria couldn't understand what he meant. 'Does he mean he likes me too? Didn't he only say all that to make Zoe Alden stay away from him? Is that all it was...?'
Damian Xavier pulled Aria Sterling into his arms, comforting her in a low voice. Though Aria was still fuming, she was also sensible, and she gave a somewhat reluctant nod.
"You... you'd better not be lying to me." Aria Sterling's tone was full of grievance, and she was still unconvinced by Damian's methods.
