Xue Rui glared at Xue Yao. He'd been set up by Lin Ruoxi, and now he couldn't very well say the gifts were for Lin Ruoxi's grandmother.
'That would be even worse. What kind of junk was I giving to a lonely old woman?'
"What? Didn't our grandma win you over with these two things when you were little?" Xue Rui laughed.
Xue Yao tilted her head. 'He kind of has a point,' she thought. Never mind back then; even now, whenever she went to her grandmother's house, she was still greeted with soda crackers and custard pies...
Lin Ruoxi glanced timidly at the others. She hadn't thought much of it earlier. 'Xue Rui was just going to his own home, so why would he need to bring gifts?'
"That's not an excuse. Why are you comparing yourself to your grandmother? How old is she?" Ren Qunfang continued to nitpick.
"Some of these are for Xue Rui, too," Lin Ruoxi quickly added.
