Nina Donovan still had her reservations.
She was still on an undercover mission.
Bringing a child along was definitely not safe.
Seeing Nina's hesitation, Jasper Sherwood pursed his thin lips. "I can't leave Iris at the villa anymore, and I can't keep her with me. I've made a lot of enemies, and I'm afraid something will happen to her. Plus, she's extremely shy around strangers. She was also a preemie, so she's more fragile than other kids her age. She can even pass out if she cries too hard. Compared to everyone else, I think Iris has taken a real liking to you."
Nina turned her head and saw Iris with her little bottom stuck in the air, pretending to play with a cat but actually eavesdropping on the adults' conversation.
She sighed internally. 'There's no way I can tell Jasper Sherwood about my mission.'
She reluctantly held up two fingers. "Two days. Two days, max. Then you come get this kid."
A smile touched Jasper Sherwood's lips as he nodded. "That's enough."
