The Awakening of the Core
The entire island trembled.
Cracks spread across the ancient floor as blue and black energy collided above the Core.
Ariba stood frozen.
The Creator's words echoed in her mind—
"The final choice is yours."
Ryan grabbed her hand.
"Ariba, don't listen to him blindly. We need to know what happens if you activate that platform."
The Creator nodded.
"That's fair."
He looked toward the glowing platform.
"If Ariba connects with the Core, she can stop the two energies from destroying each other."
Lena frowned.
"And the risk?"
The Creator's expression became serious.
"She may lose the memories she has recovered."
Ariba's eyes widened.
"My memories?"
"Yes."
Ryan immediately shook his head.
"Then no."
Ariba looked at him.
"Ryan…"
"No. You've spent your whole life trying to remember who you are. I'm not letting you lose that."
The Founder suddenly laughed from across the chamber.
"How touching."
He raised the black crystal.
"You still don't understand."
The Architect stepped forward.
"The Core doesn't need a sacrifice."
"It needs a key."
His eyes turned toward Ariba.
"And she is the key."
Suddenly—
The black crystal pulsed.
⚡ BOOM!
A wave of energy swept through the chamber.
Everyone was thrown backward.
Ariba remained standing.
The Core began responding to her presence.
Symbols appeared around her.
Lena stared at the readings.
"Her synchronization is increasing!"
Victor shouted,
"Ariba, move away!"
But she couldn't.
The platform beneath her feet activated.
A strange voice echoed inside her mind.
Not the Creator.
Not the Founder.
Not the Architect.
A voice she had never heard before.
"A-17… recognized."
Ariba's eyes widened.
"Who are you?"
The voice answered—
"I am the original consciousness."
The chamber went silent.
Even the Creator looked shocked.
"That can't be…"
Ariba turned toward him.
"You knew about this?"
The Creator shook his head.
"No."
For the first time, genuine fear appeared in his eyes.
"I thought it was gone."
The black crystal suddenly cracked.
The Founder stepped backward.
"What is happening?"
The Core released a massive wave of blue light.
The two energies began merging.
Lena shouted,
"It's creating something!"
Ryan looked up.
Above the Core, a human-shaped silhouette slowly formed.
A woman.
Long hair.
Glowing eyes.
She opened her eyes.
And looked directly at Ariba.
Then she spoke—
"You are not A-17."
Ariba froze.
The woman continued—
"A-17 was only your designation."
A pause.
"You have another name."
Ariba's heart began racing.
"What is it?"
The woman smiled faintly.
"Ask your father."
Then the entire chamber went dark.
When the lights returned—
The woman was gone.
But on the floor before Ariba lay a small silver pendant.
She picked it up.
On its surface was a single word:
ARIA
Ryan stared at it.
"Aria…"
Ariba touched the pendant.
A sudden memory flashed through her mind.
Her father holding her as a baby.
Smiling.
And whispering—
"My little Aria."
Tears filled her eyes.
For the first time…
She remembered her real name.
But before she could say anything—
The Founder grabbed the black crystal and turned toward the exit.
"This isn't over."
The Architect followed him.
The Creator watched them leave.
Victor raised his weapon.
"Should we stop them?"
Ariba slowly closed her hand around the pendant.
"No."
She looked toward the dark doorway.
"Let them run."
Ryan stared at her.
"Why?"
Ariba lifted her eyes.
"Because now…"
"…I finally know who I'm looking for."
Far away, an emergency signal began flashing.
UNKNOWN ENTITY ESCAPED
And somewhere beneath the island—
Something else awakened.
