Chapter 2 - Who is The Enigma? part 2

Part 2

Now that the entire situation had become clear, without wasting a single moment, their father ran towards the interior and said— "Raja's hand bone was broken today, and because of the pain, we have put him to sleep by giving him a sleeping pill."

By the time the sentence was finished, everyone had entered Raja's room. In that hall-sized room of twenty by twenty-five feet, all the belongings were lying in a state of disarray. Even the double bed was not in its actual place but was in a slanted position on one side of the room. A fourteen-year-old boy was sleeping unconscious on that very bed.

One of the five boys who had entered the room immediately opened a cupboard, picked up a vial, and quickly swallowed three caps of medicine down his throat. Then, receiving a signal from the Inspector, those five constables stood alert, covering the bed from all four sides.

The Inspector also pulled out his pistol from the holster and, while looking at the time on his mobile, said— "Only one minute is left, Mr. 'The Enigma'. I have reached here well in time—in my presence, you will not be able to harm Raja in any way." After closing all the windows and doors of the room, those six siblings and their father also stood completely surrounding the bed.

Now, probably no more than fifteen seconds were left for it to strike one o'clock. The Inspector stood with his back towards the bed, aiming his revolver towards the closed door in front. There were more than a dozen people in the room, yet a tense silence prevailed there. There was another door towards the back of the room, upon which the eyes of three constables were fixed. At the same time, he (the Inspector) was also constantly checking the time on the mobile held in his hand.

The mobile was showing twelve-fifty-nine, and now, after a few seconds, it was going to be one o'clock. Looking at the circumstances, everyone appeared reassured that we had secured Raja in time. However, a doubt was still fluttering inside everyone that if that person named 'The Enigma' had given a challenge, he must have done it on some basis.

One eye of the Inspector was constantly fixed on the clock of the mobile. And as soon as the time in the mobile changed from twelve-fifty-nine to one, a smile of victory was eager to creep onto the Inspector's lips; but before the smile could reach his lips, a massive blast occurred on the bed behind his back. The room shuddered with several painful screams all at once.
