Chapter 1 - The Shadow Judge pat 1

At the edge of the village stood an old, massive house known as The Shadow Mansion. Even at midnight, countless villagers would gaze at the house and whisper in hushed tones,

"Judgment here is passed by shadows..."

People believed that an invisible judge resided inside the mansion—not a living being, but a ghostly judge dwelling in shadows, who delivered verdicts by speaking to the shadows of wrongdoers.

One day, the village's young teacher, Ravi, grew curious upon hearing these stories. Whenever a crime occurred in the village, the culprit was never caught. The legend said that on the night of a crime, the wrongdoer's shadow could be seen at the doors of the Shadow Mansion.

One night, Ravi went to wait outside the mansion. The night was deep and still; the air seemed to vanish. Suddenly, at exactly 12:11 a.m., a strange light emerged from the grand doors. Standing before it was a shadowy, indistinct figure—half invisible, half formless.

Ravi wanted to enter, but a voice spoke:

"What crime do you bring? Tell me truthfully."

Though fearful, Ravi explained about a thief in the village whom the police had failed to catch.

The shadow stirred and asked,

"Do you speak the truth, or do you lie?"

Flustered, Ravi detailed the events honestly. The shadow then led him to a back room. Inside, broken walls, old furniture, and an eerie glow rising from the floor greeted him.

Suddenly, the light began to swirl, revealing the shadow of the thief in a strange, lifelike display. Ravi realized that this was no ordinary mansion or judge; here, judgment was passed by witnessing the true inner shadows of human hearts.

Finally, the shadow judge spoke in its own voice:

"Truth brings liberation, while lies only carry deeper mysteries."

The wrongdoer, whose shadow betrayed the truth, confessed the crime and sought forgiveness from the village.

That night, Ravi learned a profound lesson—

shadows never lie; they reflect the true nature of a person's heart.
