Chapter 3 - system

A few minutes later, we both let go of the hug, arms sliding apart slowly. The cool morning air rushed in between us, but the warmth of her body still lingered on my skin.

I leaned in and kissed her forehead, letting my lips rest there for a heartbeat. Sofia smiled against my cheek and returned the kiss, soft and sweet, right on my right cheek. Her full lips left a tiny spark of heat that traveled straight down my spine.

I bent down, picked my trousers up from the impossibly soft grass, and pulled them on, fastening them quickly. The fabric felt rough and strange against my bare skin out here in the open, but at least I wasn't completely exposed anymore.

With my clothes back in place, I started to really look around, trying to understand where the hell we were. Sofia stayed right beside me, her hand brushing mine as we both turned in a slow circle.

From where we stood, a dirt road lay only two or three hundred meters away, winding through the meadow like it had been there for centuries. We walked over together, boots (and her bare feet) sinking into the thick grass, until the path was right under us. It clearly led somewhere.

I followed the road with my eyes, squinting into the distance. Five to ten kilometers ahead, perched on the rolling hills, sat a village surrounded by high wooden walls. Because we were on higher ground, we could see everything clearly: a medium-sized settlement, most of the houses built from rough timber and thatch, smoke curling lazily from stone chimneys.

I muttered under my breath, voice low and stunned, "Looks like we transmigrated into another world…"

Sofia turned to me, her deep blue eyes soft and shining. She didn't even glance at the village. "I don't care what world we're in," she said, voice warm and steady, "as long as you're with me. You are my entire world."

Hearing her, I let out a soft laugh. She grinned and added in that cheeky tone I loved, "Cheeky little bastard."

"You know," I said to Sofia with a small grin, still standing in the soft meadow grass, "I saw plenty of transmigration manga where the MC always has some kind of system."

When she heard this, she nodded confidently and replied, "Good. Then I'll be the badass female MC with the whole 'don't fuck with me' vibe."

Hearing that, I bent over dramatically, crossed my arms like a loyal lackey bowing to his boss, and said in the most respectful tone I could manage, "Big Sis, please look after this poor and weak little brother of yours."

Sofia let out a soft laugh and patted my back smugly. "Ah, don't worry, little bro. If you get scared, you can always hide under my legs." She finished with a playful wink.

My face burned instantly. I blushed hard with embarrassment, heat rushing up my neck.

"Watch and learn," I muttered, trying to play it cool.

She smirked, then whispered under her breath, "System."

A glowing blue panel instantly appeared in the air right in front of her.

Status

Name: Sofia Kane

Occupation: Warrior

Age: 42

Level: 0

Experience: 0/100

HP: 100/100

MP: 80/80

"Hmm, pretty basic," she murmured.

She swiped her hand through the air. The panel shifted smoothly.

Skills

• Basic Shield (Level 1)

MP Cost: 15

Cooldown: 8 seconds

I blinked, confused, tilting my head to see better.

Then she swiped again. This time a massive panel exploded outward — so enormous it almost covered her entire view, stretching wide across the meadow air with dozens of empty branches, slots, and connecting lines.

Skill Tree [Completely Empty]

I was still bent over like a loyal little lackey, my cheek pressed right against the soft, heavy curve of Sofia's breast through the thin nightgown. God, it felt so warm and full — every tiny shift of her body made it pillow gently against my face. I wanted to rub my cheek across it a few times, just to feel that perfect weight, but I forced myself to stay still while she kept swiping at the empty air.

I couldn't take it anymore. "Mom, what the fuck are you swiping at thin air like that?"

Hearing me, Sofia frowned and glanced down. "Can't you see the system panel?"

I shook my head, deliberately letting my cheek rub against her soft boob one slow time as I did. The warmth and give of it sent a spark straight down my spine.

She squinted at the top corner of her own panel, spotted the little crossed-eye icon, and tapped it once. Instantly, the glowing blue screen flickered into existence right in front of me too — the exact same Status, Skills, and massive empty Skill Tree she was seeing.

My jaw dropped. I stared at it in pure shock, eyes wide.

Sofia let out a smug little grin, clearly enjoying my reaction.

Reading about it in manga was one thing. Seeing it in real life — the glowing blue panels hanging in the air, the soft meadow grass under our feet, Sofia's body warm against mine — was an entirely different experience.

I decided to check my own system before standing up properly. Still bent over, I leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to the heavy curve of her breast through the thin nightgown, then moved lower and kissed her pink nipple gently. It was warm, pebbled, and tasted faintly of her skin.

The moment my lips touched it, Sofia ruffled my hair with a fond hand and teased in that sweet, playful voice, "Ah, is my baby thirsty? Wants to drink Mommy's milk?"

My face instantly burned. I stood up fast, cheeks blazing red, and blurted, "Mom, stop!"

She laughed softly, eyes sparkling with mischief.

I muttered under my breath, "System."

A glowing blue panel appeared right in front of me.

Status

Name: Liam Kane

Occupation: Mage

Age: 20

Level: 0

Experience: 0/100

HP: 100/100

MP: 80/80

"Hmm… pretty basic," I murmured.

I swiped the panel sideways with my hand.

Skills

• Fireball (Level 1)

 MP Cost: 15

 Cooldown: 8 seconds

I swiped again and opened the Skill Tree.

There was a little glowing + sign right next to Fireball Level 1. The instant I tapped it, a massive flood of knowledge poured straight into my brain — the exact way mana circulated through my veins, the precise hand gestures, the short chant, and the burning sensation of compressing fire in my palm. It all slammed in like I'd been casting it for years.

The panel updated immediately:

Fireball – Level 1

Experience: 0/100

MP Cost: 15

Cooldown: 8 seconds

"Wait… I have to cast this shit 100 times just to level it up?" I groaned. "Oh my fucking God."

Then, on the left side of the panel, a new glowing message box appeared:

Every 10 levels, you will receive 3 skill options so you can choose your fighting style.

Hearing my frustrated murmuring, Sofia frowned. Without warning, her palm came down and delivered a firm spank to my ass cheek. The sharp smack sent a hot jolt through my body, the sting blooming warm across my skin.

I snapped upright, heart pounding. I scratched the back of my head awkwardly, trying to play it cool even as heat flooded my face.

Then it clicked. I spotted the little crossed-eye icon in the corner of my panel and tapped it once. Instantly, my glowing blue status screen flickered into existence right in front of Sofia's eyes as well.

She scanned it carefully. The moment her gaze landed on my occupation — Mage — she let out a long, theatrical sigh.

"Looks like I have to look after my son in this world too," she said in that sweet, teasing tone. "Being a mom really isn't an easy task."

The corner of my mouth twitched. I knew exactly what she was really implying… but I couldn't find a single good way to retort without digging myself deeper.
