Chapter 9 - Chapter- 9

Next, the two notifications rang, and with them, the burning sensation came back, but unlike last time, this time the burning sensation was less painful, but it was still enough to make Mark want to curse a thousand times.

And just like last time, the pain came and disappeared, but this time, the intense itch started right after the pain disappeared, making his wound disappear with the speed of the naked eye.

In no time, Mark was back to being in perfect health, just as he was when everything started.

No, at that time he was thirsty and hungry, battered from all the exhaustion he had gone through while in the run, but right now he felt so much energy inside of him that he just wanted to pick up his weapons and start slaughtering.

So, he did. He picked up his knives and jumped from the tree. The shock he had felt when he had jumped from the tree when he was fighting John was nowhere.

His body had become so strong that jumping from 10 to 15 meters height was now nothing for him.

As he ran towards the three circles that were near him. These three circles weren't police officers, but others ones, who were together since the start.

They had been on his kill list for a long time, as they had killed five humans during his watch on the map.

The earlier they were dead, the better it would be for everyone, cuz in this place, people with groups were the most threatening right now, maybe later there would be betrayals and all, but for now, they behaved as the perfect team.

With the speed so fast that only a blur could be seen, Mark ran towards his targets.

The three humans seeing the fast red dot approaching them were shocked to their cores.

The speed at which the person was coming made them hesitate whether to fight or run.

Truthfully, previously they never thought of such a thing, cuz together they were invincible here, and the person approaching them was one of their targets, whom they wanted to hunt.

That was the reason they had come so close to him, just to find out that this sheep was different from other humans they had killed.

He/she was a true hunter, bidding his time, waiting for them, letting them approach, and now that they were close to his domain, he/she came seeking them.

Their thoughts couldn't completely process when they saw the red dot coming just beside their three dots, making them get ready to strike.

On the other hand, Mark did not stop even for a second as he instead quickened his speed and with a woosh, came into the sight of three people.

But before he could approach them, five arrows came towards him in quick succession, making him dodge.

The man in his 40s with a stern face, who stood in the middle, maybe the other two's leader, held a crossbow, from which arrows were automatically coming out of nowhere whenever he was pressing the trigger.

Dodging sideways, Mark rolled as he pulled his bow's string and let loose his arrow.

Like a snake, his arrow went, making the other three shock, not knowing how to dodge such an arrow, when suddenly the girl raised her hand and fire came out of it, burning the arrow to ashes before it could even approach them.

While Mark was shell-shocked by seeing fire coming out of the girl's hand. This was the first time he had seen magic in this world.

But he did not stop, running in circle, he pulled gun out of his space, and seeing the gun, the shock in the three people face was apparent, as a cruel smile came onto Mark's face and again he fired, but this time at the magic girl, and not one time, but five times, covering all her escape route.

Yet before the bullets could hit the girl, the man in the middle threw the girl with quick force, while one of the bullets hit him in his arm.

The girl flew like a sandbag, while one of the bullets grazed her waist, making her scream.

"You son of a bitch." Cried the third man, who hadn't done anything since the start, and slammed his fist on the ground towards him.

Like a crisp, the ground crumbled, as in a V shape; everything in front of that man got destroyed.

Shocked, Mark grasped one of the tree branches and jumped from one tree to another to save himself.

While lost in madness, the man kept slamming his fists wherever he went, destroying everything in his path.

Trees were destroyed, the ground was destroyed, and the only pathway that was left for Mark was to run back, but he wasn't willing to.

He did not come here to run, but to kill, so again he pulled his bow and arrows while he ran behind, out of the ten-meter zone, which was the limit of the man who was crushing the land, and let loose all of his nine arrows one by one.

Even after killing others or using his arrows, he did not waste them. He had picked them, cleaned them, and put them back in his space, and now again they were coming in handy.

As the punching man saw nine arrows coming towards all of them from different directions.

What the most special about the arrows was that they had no definite pathway. The curved here and there, they moved just like snakes, and they were everywhere.

Not knowing what to do, again he slammed his fist, but this time in three directions, one another, covering his front, left, and right direction, not letting any of the arrows hit any of them.

But the dust that flew because of that also erased their enemy's location, making the other two, who had now stood up to fire their arrows and flame, covering the entire 360-degree area.

Yet for close to ten seconds, they saw no sign of their enemy, making them hesitate whether to continue their attacks or stop.
