On her first day at school, she introduced herself loudly.
"I'm Angelica Delavin. The long-lost daughter of the Delavin family."
Girls surrounded her quickly. She enjoyed the attention.
Then she started telling them lies.
"She doesn't like me," she said, pointing at me. "She feels threatened because I'm better."
I stayed silent.
During recess, she suddenly tripped me.
My lunch fell all over my uniform. Everyone laughed.
She rushed to me pretending to care.
"Are you okay, sis? Let me help you."
Her fingers tightened painfully on my shoulder. She smirked while people watched.
I ran to the restroom.
She followed.
"Why are you doing this?" I cried. "We're sisters. Why do you hate me?"
She looked at me with anger.
"You had everything. I had nothing. So now I'm taking it all."
"Mom and Dad will know the truth," I said.
She laughed softly. "They will believe me. I'm the poor lost child. You're just the jealous one."
For the first time in my life, I felt scared of my own sister.
