The first thing he did was expand Goldenveil's road network. Before, it had been only fifteen kilometers long. Now, it stretched for hundreds.
Fallenwinter sat just over seventy kilometers from Goldenveil, while Greenleaf was about fifty. Besides the direct connections to the capital, the cities were linked to one another and to other locations rich in specific resources Ethan wanted to explore.
In total, he built about three hundred kilometers of roads, all of extremely high quality. Arrays embedded in the pavement drew mana directly from Goldenveil, protecting the stone from weather and dirt.
Every one of them also carried magical train lines—a system Ethan was still setting up but would soon put into operation.
His goal was simple: to ensure that every part of Goldenveil's central region was no more than a few minutes' travel from any other point.
