[Greek Mythology] Night
Act.05
Act.05
"Host, think about it another way. You can't be a single dog forever. What's wrong with finding a partner?"
In the Temple of Night, the large bed conjured by Nyx's divine power was a mess. Erebus was naked; if it weren't for a thin blanket covering his private parts, a censor would probably have to censor it.
Erebus was still asleep, while Nyx sat there dumbfounded, staring into the distance. His millions of years of pure virginity were ruined just like that!
Eros! Give me back my innocence!
"Why is this guy still sleeping! It's not like I slept with him!" Nyx angrily kicked the soundly sleeping Erebus. For a god, bedroom activities are like a battle, a truly protracted affair. Nyx felt like his back was about to break! If it weren't for the primordial god's good recovery ability, he might have fallen into a deep sleep in his own temple! That would probably become a laughing stock spread throughout the world!
Have you heard? The Greek god of night was driven into a deep sleep by his brother!
No way! This absolutely must be prevented!
"Based on the system's observations during the host's 'exercise,' the host is primarily responsible for the expenditure of divine power and divine duties, while Erebus is responsible for the expenditure of divine strength, naturally making him more tired..."
"You just said you observed me during my 'exercise'?"
Nix interrupted the system expressionlessly.
"Uh... this is the first time the system has witnessed a primordial god-level 'body'! Out of a thirst for knowledge and a sense of responsibility to the host, I took this action!"
"If there's a next time, I'll give you to Chaos."
"Eek—"
Thinking of that almost omnipotent creator god, the system felt its non-existent scalp tingling.
"But isn't there any way to solve this situation?"
Nix was extremely troubled. This time, it was Eros who caused this mess, but who could guarantee it wouldn't happen again? He didn't believe in one-off accidents. Like a man's infidelity, people usually throw away used goods that have had problems, otherwise they'd feel insulted by their own intelligence.
There had to be a permanent solution.
"Yes!"
The system suddenly became excited.
"The system originally thought it was useless to the host! I never thought this system would actually come in handy!"
Nix deeply regretted not giving this idiot to Chaos. If you're going to get excited, why not do it in someone else's head?!
"Host, do you remember what the system told you before about its uses?"
"I remember, something about collecting the power of the world's origin?" Nix recalled, after all, it was said millions of years ago.
"Yes, in the multiverse, there are countless worlds, and your world, like the host's, is among the most powerful. Some worlds, however, have weaker dimensional barriers, allowing infiltration and the acquisition of a portion of their primordial power!"
"What does this have to do with changing my current situation?"
Nix didn't grasp the system's excited point. The most pressing issue was how to change the current situation. This explanation felt less reliable than a shady urology clinic. Thinking about it carefully, cutting off Erebus might be a good solution!
"According to the system's research, the power of the primordial gods is similar to the primordial power of the world. We only need to use the primordial power of the world to replace the portion of divine power that Erebus would otherwise provide, and we can perfectly create new gods without needing to engage in sexual activity!"
"...So, the result is still having to give birth? It's just become self-splitting..." Nix silently shed a tear for himself. This lousy method was worse than cutting off Erebus.
"There's no other way; after all, it's the host's innate duty."
"Alright."
The current goal is to successfully become a single mother—oops, a father! Nyx stood up, conjured clothes with his divine power, and tidied up the chaotic temple.
"The host is leaving now?"
"Yes."
Nyx glanced at Erebus, still sleeping beside him.
"I think I'll go to other worlds first and come back later. This is too embarrassing. Sleeping with my own brother—even though I'm now a member of the Greek pantheon known for its...sexuality, I still find it hard to accept."
"What's wrong with that? In mythology, hosts even sleep with their own children. The system remembers that in mythology, Nyx and Hypnos had the god of dreams."
"...Please don't mention it! Let's go! Let's leave now!"
With the system's location tracking and Nyx's divine power, they quickly found the nearest small world. After confirming the coordinates, Nyx activated teleportation.
"Hmm—"
Erebus, lying in bed, frowned in his sleep, seemingly dreaming of something unpleasant.
