Synopsis
1. The Divine Decree and the Angels' Inquiry
The story begins with Allah's intention to create a "Khalifa" (vicegerent) on Earth. The angels, recalling previous creations that caused bloodshed, questioned if this new being would also spread mischief. Allah responded that He knows what they do not.
2. The Test of Knowledge
To demonstrate the status of humans, Allah taught Adam (A.S.) the names of all things—knowledge the angels did not possess. When the angels could not name these items, Adam (A.S.) did, proving his intellectual superiority and purpose.
3. The Command to Prostrate and Iblis’s Arrogance
Allah commanded the angels and Jinn to prostrate before Adam (A.S.). All obeyed except Iblis (Satan), who refused out of pride, arguing that he was superior because he was created from fire while Adam was made from clay. Consequently, Iblis was expelled and cursed until the Day of Judgment.
4. Satan’s Vow to Mislead
Iblis asked for and was granted respite until the Day of Resurrection. He vowed to mislead humanity from the straight path by attacking them from all directions, aiming to make them ungrateful to Allah.
5. Life in Paradise and the Creation of Hawwa (Eve)
Adam (A.S.) lived in Paradise but felt lonely, so Allah created Hawwa (A.S.) from him to provide companionship and peace. They were allowed to enjoy all of Paradise except for one specific forbidden tree.
6. The Deception and the Fall
Satan deceived them by swearing he was their well-wisher, claiming that eating from the tree would make them immortal or turn them into angels. Once they ate the fruit, they became aware of their nakedness and tried to cover themselves with leaves.
7. Repentance and Life on Earth
Allah questioned their disobedience. Unlike Satan’s arrogance, Adam (A.S.) and Hawwa (A.S.) immediately felt remorse and prayed: "Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers". Allah sent them to Earth to live, die, and eventually be resurrected.
8. Legacy and Moral Lesson
Adam (A.S.) spent many years seeking forgiveness until Allah accepted his repentance. He lived on Earth for approximately 900 years, establishing the human race. The video concludes by contrasting the path of Satan (arrogance and blame) with the path of Adam (admitting mistakes and seeking mercy).
