The gunshot echoed across the abandoned compound like thunder splitting the night in half. For a brief second, everyone froze. Then chaos exploded. Armed men on both sides raised their weapons as shouting filled the rain-soaked battlefield. Bullets tore through the darkness, striking walls, vehicles, and metal containers scattered around the compound. Sparks flew through the air while thunder roared above, blending with the sound of gunfire.
Inside the warehouse, Anya flinched as another round of shots erupted outside. Her heart pounded violently against her chest. The kidnappers immediately grabbed her and dragged her toward the back exit. Panic surged through her mind. She knew exactly what they were trying to do. They were planning to escape before Riven could reach her.
Outside, Riven stood motionless despite the battle erupting around him. Rain ran down his black coat as bullets flew past his men. His sharp eyes scanned the battlefield, searching for any sign of Anya. Around him, his soldiers pushed forward with deadly precision, forcing the enemy guards into retreat.
"Find her," Riven ordered coldly.
His voice wasn't loud, but every man heard it.
Within seconds, multiple teams broke away from the main assault and rushed toward different sections of the compound. The warehouse doors were breached. Flashlights pierced the darkness. One room after another was searched.
But Anya was nowhere to be found.
A dangerous silence settled inside Riven's mind.
The enemy had prepared an escape route.
And that meant they were still one step ahead.
Part 2: The Hidden Escape
At the rear of the warehouse, the mysterious villain hurried Anya through a narrow underground tunnel hidden beneath the building. The passage was old, damp, and barely illuminated by emergency lights. Water dripped from cracked concrete walls as footsteps echoed endlessly through the darkness.
Anya struggled against the guards holding her.
"Where are you taking me?" she demanded.
The villain glanced back and smiled.
"Somewhere Riven can never find you."
Those words sent a chill down her spine.
For the first time, fear wasn't the only thing she felt.
She felt anger.
Because she was tired of being treated like a weapon against someone else.
The villain continued walking.
"For years, Riven has ruled this city," they said. "Everyone fears him. Everyone obeys him. Tonight that empire begins to collapse."

The villain suddenly stopped near a massive steel door hidden at the end of the tunnel.

A complete escape convoy.
Everything had been planned.

A loud explosion suddenly shook the tunnel.
The ground trembled violently.
Dust rained from the ceiling.
The villain's confident smile vanished.
Because only one person would be reckless enough to blow apart an underground escape route.

Part 3: The Mafia King's Arrival
The steel door exploded inward with a deafening blast.
Smoke filled the tunnel.
Guards shouted in panic.
Weapons were raised.
And from the cloud of dust emerged a single figure dressed in black.
Riven.
His expression was colder than death itself.
Behind him stood dozens of heavily armed soldiers.
For several seconds, nobody moved.
The atmosphere became suffocating.
Even the villain stared in disbelief.
"How?" they whispered.
Riven took another step forward.
"You underestimated me."
The villain's eyes narrowed.
"No."
Riven's voice became even colder.
"You underestimated how far I'll go for her."
Those words caused Anya's heart to stop for a moment.
The tunnel fell silent.
Then the villain laughed.
A dark, unsettling laugh.
"You still don't understand, do you?" they said.
"Understand what?" Riven replied.
The villain slowly removed a small silver pendant hanging around their neck.
Anya's eyes widened instantly.
She recognized it.
Years ago, before all the chaos, before Riven entered her life, she had seen that pendant before.
The memory hit her like lightning.
The villain noticed her reaction.
And smiled.
"Now you remember."
Riven's expression darkened.
Because whatever secret connected Anya to this person was far bigger than anyone had imagined.
Before anyone could speak again, the tunnel lights suddenly went out.
Darkness swallowed everything.
Gunshots erupted.
People screamed.
And in the confusion, someone disappeared.
When the emergency lights flickered back on moments later, Anya was gone.
The villain was gone.
And Riven stood frozen, staring at the empty tunnel.
The hunt wasn't over.
It had only entered its most dangerous stage.
