Chapter 3 - Chapter 1,2,3,4,5: The Devil in Black

Chapter 1: The Devil in Black (Extended Version)

The city never truly slept.

Even at midnight, distant sirens echoed through the empty streets, mixing with the restless hum of danger that lived within its shadows. Tonight felt different. Heavy. Suffocating.

Ariana felt it before she even understood why.

Her heels struck the pavement as she ran, breath uneven, heart pounding violently against her ribs. Cold air burned her lungs, but fear pushed her forward. Behind her, chaos unfolded—shouting voices, screeching tires, and the unmistakable sound of gunfire tearing through the silence.

Someone was chasing her.

No.

Not someone.

Everyone.

She turned sharply into a narrow alley, her hands trembling as she pressed herself against the damp wall. Her phone had died minutes ago. No help. No escape. Only darkness wrapped around her like a warning.

What had she gotten herself into?

Just hours earlier, she had attended what was supposed to be a harmless charity gala. Elegant lights. Wealthy smiles. Powerful men pretending to be civilized.

Now those same men wanted her dead.

A shadow moved at the end of the alley.

Ariana froze.

Footsteps approached—slow, calm, deliberate.

Not hurried like hunters.

Confident like a king.

A black car stopped nearby, its engine humming softly. Several armed men stepped aside instantly, lowering their heads in silent respect.

Fear crawled up her spine.

Someone important had arrived.

The man stepped into the dim light.

Black suit. Perfectly tailored. Not a single wrinkle. His presence alone seemed to command the air itself. Dark eyes scanned the alley before settling on her trembling figure.

Cold.

Unreadable.

Dangerous.

He looked like sin dressed in elegance.

Ariana's breath caught.

Everyone around him stood rigid, waiting—not daring to speak first.

She realized something terrifying.

These armed men weren't protecting themselves from danger.

They were protecting the world from him.

"Found her," one guard muttered.

The man raised a hand.

Silence fell instantly.

His gaze remained locked on Ariana as he walked closer, each step echoing like a countdown. She tried to move, but her legs refused to obey.

Instinct screamed at her to run.

But something deeper whispered—

Running would be useless.

He stopped only inches away.

Up close, his calmness was terrifying. No anger. No rush. Just absolute control.

"Miss Ariana," he said quietly.

Her name sounded unfamiliar in his voice.

"How do you know me?" she demanded, forcing courage she didn't feel.

He studied her for a moment before answering.

"The entire mafia network in this city knows you now."

Her stomach dropped.

Gunshots rang somewhere nearby again.

Closer this time.

She flinched.

His expression didn't change.

"Get her in the car," he ordered calmly.

Two men moved instantly.

"What? No—wait!" Ariana struggled, panic exploding inside her. "You can't just kidnap me!"

The man tilted his head slightly.

"Kidnap?" he repeated.

His lips almost curved into amusement.

"If I hadn't arrived," he said softly, "you would already be dead."

She froze.

The certainty in his voice terrified her more than the guns.

Inside the car, the doors locked automatically.

Ariana turned toward him as he entered beside her.

"Who are you?" she whispered.

The city lights reflected briefly in his eyes.

Somewhere outside, explosions echoed faintly.

He answered simply—

"Raihan."

Recognition hit instantly.

Her blood ran cold.

Raihan.

The man whispered about in fear.

The ruler of the underground.

The one they called—

The Devil in Black.

"You're using me," she accused.

"Yes."

The honesty shocked her.

"But I'm also keeping you alive."

Outside, alliances were collapsing. Mafia families were preparing for open war. And somehow, unknowingly, Ariana had become the center of it all.

Minutes later, the massive iron gates of a mansion opened before them.

Guards lined the entrance like soldiers welcoming their king.

This wasn't a house.

It was a fortress.

Her prison.

That night, unable to accept reality, Ariana attempted escape through a silent service corridor.

Freedom was only steps away.

Her fingers touched the exit door—

Strong hands caught her wrist.

She gasped.

Raihan stood behind her.

Disappointed.

But calm.

"I warned you," he said quietly, pulling her back toward the mansion. "The world outside is far more dangerous than me."

Gunshots echoed again in the distance.

War had officially begun.

And as fear settled deep within her chest, Ariana realized the horrifying truth—

Being taken by the Devil in Black…

…might be the only reason she was still alive.

Chapter 2: The Devil's Prison

Ariana didn't sleep.

How could she?

The room was beautiful—too beautiful. Silk curtains framed massive glass windows. Soft golden lights illuminated elegant furniture worth more than most people's houses.

Yet every corner screamed one truth.

She wasn't a guest.

She was a captive.

Outside her door, footsteps moved every few minutes. Guards. Always watching. Always waiting.

Raihan's mansion felt less like a home and more like a perfectly designed cage.

She walked toward the window again.

Iron gates surrounded acres of land. Armed men patrolled the grounds with military precision. Escape was impossible.

Her chest tightened.

He hadn't lied.

Leaving meant death.

But staying with him?

That might be worse.

A soft knock interrupted her thoughts.

Before she could answer, the door opened.

A maid entered silently, placing breakfast on the table without meeting Ariana's eyes.

"Where is he?" Ariana asked.

The woman hesitated.

"Boss is busy."

Boss.

Not sir.

Not mister.

Boss.

Even the way they said it carried fear.

Ariana pushed the tray away.

"I want to leave."

The maid's face paled instantly.

No reply came.

She left quickly—as if staying longer might get her punished.

Minutes later, the door opened again.

This time, the atmosphere changed.

The air itself grew heavier.

Raihan entered.

Black shirt. Sleeves rolled slightly. Calm expression hiding something dangerous beneath.

Ariana stood immediately.

"You locked me here."

He closed the door behind him.

"Yes."

No apology.

No hesitation.

Anger flared inside her.

"You think you can control my life?"

Raihan walked closer slowly.

"I already saved it."

She laughed bitterly.

"This is prison."

He stopped inches away, gaze steady.

"No," he said quietly.

"This is the only place in the city where you're untouchable."

Her heartbeat quickened.

"Why me?"

For the first time, silence lingered between them.

Then he spoke—

"Because someone powerful believes you have something they want."

A chill ran through her.

"I don't know anything about mafia wars!"

"You don't need to," Raihan replied calmly. "You only need to survive them."

Suddenly—

Gunfire exploded outside.

Ariana flinched.

Raihan didn't even turn.

One of his men rushed inside.

"Boss. Romano family attacked our eastern warehouse."

Raihan's expression darkened slightly.

War.

Real war.

He looked back at Ariana.

"You see?" he murmured. "They're already moving."

"Because of me?"

"Yes."

Fear wrapped tightly around her lungs.

Raihan stepped closer, lowering his voice.

"From tonight onward… you stay under my protection."

His next words sent shivers down her spine.

"No one touches what belongs to me."

Belongs.

The word echoed dangerously.

"I'm not yours," she whispered.

Something unreadable flashed in his eyes.

"We'll see."

He turned to leave—

Then paused.

Without looking back, he added,

"Try escaping again… and next time I won't stop you."

The threat wasn't cruel.

It was worse.

It sounded like truth.

Outside, sirens wailed as the mafia war spread through the city.

And inside the mansion—

Ariana realized she wasn't just trapped with a monster.

She was beginning to understand him.

Which might be far more dangerous.

Chapter 3: Dangerous Curiosity

Morning arrived without peace.

Ariana woke to the distant sound of helicopters cutting through the sky. For a moment, she forgot where she was.

Then reality returned.

The mansion.

The guards.

The Devil in Black.

She sat up slowly, noticing something strange.

Her door was unlocked.

Suspicion immediately filled her mind.

Was this a test?

Carefully, she stepped outside.

The hallway stretched endlessly, decorated with expensive paintings and dim golden lights. Everything looked elegant—yet cold.

Like its owner.

Servants moved quietly, lowering their heads as she passed. No one stopped her.

No one spoke.

It felt intentional.

As if Raihan wanted her to see something.

Curiosity slowly replaced fear.

She followed the sound of voices downstairs.

"…Romano family lost three men last night."

Ariana froze near the staircase.

Below, Raihan stood with several armed men around a massive table covered in maps and weapons.

He looked different here.

Not calm.

Not distant.

Powerful.

Dangerous.

A king planning war.

"We strike tonight," Raihan said coldly. "No warnings."

One man hesitated.

"But Boss… police activity is increasing."

Raihan's lips curved slightly.

"Then make sure the police look somewhere else."

The room fell silent.

Ariana accidentally shifted her foot.

The sound echoed.

Every gun instantly pointed upward.

Her breath stopped.

Raihan looked up.

Their eyes met.

For a second, irritation flashed across his face—then disappeared.

"Lower your weapons," he ordered.

The men obeyed immediately.

He walked toward her slowly.

"You shouldn't be here."

"You left the door open," Ariana replied.

A faint smirk appeared.

"Yes."

Realization hit her.

"You wanted me to see this."

Raihan stopped in front of her.

"I wanted you to understand reality."

"And what reality is that?"

His voice dropped.

"That my enemies will kill you without hesitation."

Her anger rose again.

"You keep saying that, but you still haven't told me why!"

Silence stretched.

Raihan studied her face carefully—as if deciding something.

Finally, he spoke.

"Three days ago… someone placed a bounty on your name."

Her blood ran cold.

"A bounty?"

"Dead or alive."

The world tilted slightly beneath her feet.

"I'm just a normal girl…"

"No," Raihan said quietly.

"You were."

Before she could ask more, alarms suddenly blared across the mansion.

Red lights flashed.

One guard shouted—

"Sniper spotted!"

Chaos erupted instantly.

Raihan grabbed Ariana's wrist.

"Stay close."

A loud gunshot shattered glass nearby.

She screamed as Raihan pulled her behind him, shielding her body with his own.

Another shot rang out.

His men returned fire.

Within seconds, the peaceful mansion transformed into a battlefield.

Ariana's hands trembled.

"This is because of me…"

Raihan glanced down at her.

"No."

His voice was calm—even now.

"This is because someone challenged me."

Something dark burned in his eyes.

And for the first time—

Ariana realized the most terrifying truth.

The city didn't fear war.

The city feared Raihan.

And anyone who threatened what he protected…

never survived.

Chapter 4: The Devil's Rules

The gunfire stopped after ten minutes.

But to Ariana, it felt like hours.

Smoke lingered in the air. Broken glass covered the marble floor, reflecting the flashing emergency lights.

Raihan's grip on her wrist never loosened.

Even after the danger passed.

A guard approached carefully.

"Boss… sniper eliminated."

Raihan nodded once.

"Search the perimeter. Double security."

"Yes, Boss."

Only then did he look at Ariana.

Her breathing was uneven.

Fear still visible in her eyes.

"You're shaking."

"I almost died!" she snapped.

His expression didn't change.

"You almost die every second outside this mansion."

That calm answer frustrated her more.

"You act like kidnapping me was normal!"

Raihan leaned slightly closer.

"For my world… it is."

He released her wrist slowly.

The sudden absence of warmth felt strange.

"Come with me," he said.

"I'm not following orders."

His eyes darkened.

"Then consider it survival advice."

Against her will, Ariana followed him.

He led her into a massive private office.

Dark walls. City lights glowing behind glass windows. Weapons locked inside elegant cabinets.

Power lived in this room.

Raihan poured water and handed it to her.

She hesitated… then took it.

"Listen carefully," he said.

His voice turned cold and controlled.

"These are my rules."

Ariana crossed her arms.

"I'm listening."

"Rule one—You never leave this mansion alone."

Her jaw tightened.

"Rule two—You do not trust anyone except me."

"That's impossible."

A faint smile appeared.

"You'll learn."

He continued—

"Rule three—If I say run… you run. No questions."

She stared at him.

"And if I refuse?"

Raihan stepped closer until she felt trapped between him and the desk.

His voice dropped dangerously low.

"Then you die."

Silence filled the room.

Her heart pounded loudly.

"Why are you protecting me?" she whispered again.

For the first time…

Raihan looked conflicted.

His gaze moved away toward the city lights.

"Because your father made a mistake."

Ariana froze.

"My father?"

Before she could ask more—

The door burst open.

"Boss!"

A bloody guard staggered inside.

"They attacked our warehouse… Romano family declared war."

The temperature in the room seemed to drop instantly.

Raihan's entire aura changed.

Cold.

Ruthless.

Deadly.

"Prepare the cars," he ordered calmly.

The guard left.

Ariana swallowed nervously.

"You're going to fight?"

Raihan picked up his black coat.

"I'm going to end it."

He paused beside her.

"If I don't return—"

Her chest tightened unexpectedly.

He finished quietly—

"Stay hidden."

Then he walked out.

Leaving Ariana alone with one terrifying realization—

The Devil in Black wasn't just dangerous.

He was walking straight into war.

And somehow…

she was afraid for him.

Chapter 5: Blood and Promises

The mansion felt unbearably quiet after Raihan left.

Too quiet.

Ariana stood near the window, watching black vehicles disappear through the massive iron gates. Armed men followed behind like shadows marching toward death.

War.

Real war.

And Raihan walked into it without hesitation.

She tried convincing herself it didn't matter.

He was a criminal.

Dangerous.

A stranger who kidnapped her.

So why did her chest feel tight?

Why was she waiting?

Minutes turned into hours.

Night slowly swallowed the sky.

Every distant siren made her heart jump.

Servants whispered nervously in corridors. Guards moved faster than usual. Phones rang constantly.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Finally—

Around midnight—

the gates opened again.

Vehicles rushed inside.

Damaged.

Bullet holes covering the doors.

Ariana's stomach dropped.

She ran downstairs before anyone could stop her.

Men carried injured soldiers through the entrance. Blood stained the marble floor.

Her eyes searched desperately—

Then she saw him.

Raihan stepped out of the car.

Alive.

But barely untouched.

Blood soaked his shirt near the shoulder.

Her breath caught.

Without thinking, she rushed toward him.

"You're hurt!"

Everyone froze.

No one approached Raihan like that.

Ever.

He looked slightly surprised as she grabbed his arm.

"It's nothing," he said calmly.

"It's bleeding!"

Ariana dragged him toward a nearby chair despite the shocked stares of his men.

"Medical kit," she ordered.

The guards hesitated.

Raihan spoke quietly—

"Do as she says."

Instant obedience.

Within seconds supplies appeared.

Her hands trembled as she cleaned the wound.

The bullet had grazed him.

Still dangerous.

Still painful.

"You could've died," she whispered.

Raihan watched her carefully.

"You sound worried."

"I'm human," she muttered.

But her voice betrayed her.

Silence stretched between them.

For the first time—

the powerful mafia king allowed someone to care for him.

Allowed weakness.

When she finished, she looked up—

Only to realize how close they were.

His gaze softened slightly.

Rare.

Almost invisible.

"You waited," he said.

She looked away quickly.

"I was bored."

A faint chuckle escaped him.

Unexpected.

Warm.

Then his expression darkened again.

"The Romano family crossed a line tonight."

Danger returned instantly.

"What happens now?" she asked.

Raihan stood slowly.

"Now…"

His voice turned ice cold.

"They learn why they fear me."

He began walking away—

Then stopped.

Without turning back, he added quietly,

"No matter what happens next… stay near me."

Her heartbeat skipped.

Because those words didn't sound like an order.

They sounded like a promise.

Outside, thunder rolled across the sky.

The mafia war had only begun.

And Ariana realized something terrifying—

The Devil in Black was bleeding.

And she didn't want him to fall.
