Chapter 10: Husband and Wife Energy
Jay's POV
It started over something stupid.
Very stupid.
Keifer said pineapple belongs on pizza.
I said it doesn't.
Now we were arguing like world leaders in crisis.
"It adds flavor," Keifer insisted.
"It adds confusion," I shot back.
Yuri leaned back in his chair. "Why are we debating fruit?"
Cin whispered, "This is better than Netflix."
Keifer crossed his arms. "You just don't understand balance."
I blinked slowly.
"You're talking about balance? You can't even balance your grades."
The class exploded.
David slapped Emman's shoulder.
Eren almost fell off his chair laughing.
Keifer leaned closer.
"At least I experiment."
"With bad decisions," I replied instantly.
Rory stood up dramatically. "Ladies and gentlemen, round 47!"
Wrdix nodded seriously. "They argue like they've been married for 10 years."
I turned. "Excuse me?"
Mayo grinned. "You two fight like husband and wife."
"No, we don't," I snapped.
"Yes, you do," Kit said calmly.
Blaster pointed at us. "Look at the eye contact!"
Calix added, "The tension is domestic."
Felix suddenly stood up and clapped loudly.
"Guys. GUYS."
We all looked at him.
He placed his hand on his chest dramatically.
"As someone who observes love stories… you two look exactly like a married couple arguing over groceries."
The class screamed.
I felt my face heat up.
"No," I said flatly.
Keifer smirked. "You started it."
"I did not."
"You did."
"You breathed wrong."
The class lost it again.
Cin wiped fake tears. "Mom and Dad are fighting."
Yuri nodded. "Who gets custody of Section E?"
David pointed at me. "Jay. She's stricter."
Emman added, "Keifer just annoys."
Keifer looked offended. "Traitors."
Felix walked between us like a counselor.
"Okay, okay. Let's settle this."
He looked at me. "Jay, why does pineapple not belong on pizza?"
"Because sweet and savory need harmony," I replied calmly. "Not chaos."
Felix turned to Keifer.
"And you?"
"Because rules are boring," Keifer said. "And she hates breaking them."
I blinked.
"That's not true."
He leaned slightly closer.
"You like control."
"And you like attention," I replied instantly.
Silence.
Blaster whispered, "They forgot about pizza."
Rory nodded. "This is personal now."
Keifer lowered his voice.
"You argue because you care."
I crossed my arms.
"I argue because you're wrong."
Felix clutched his heart. "THE DENIAL."
Wrdix shook his head. "Classic married behavior."
I grabbed my notebook.
"We are not married."
Keifer smirked lazily.
"Relax, wife."
The classroom froze for half a second—
Then exploded.
"HE SAID WIFE!"
"BRO IS DEAD!"
"ANGELO WILL KILL HIM!"
My eye twitched.
"Say that again."
He leaned back confidently.
"Wife."
I walked toward him slowly.
The class chanting, "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
I stopped in front of him.
"You're brave."
"I know."
"Or stupid."
"Maybe both."
Felix whispered dramatically, "They're flirting again."
"SHUT UP, FELIX," we both yelled at the same time.
Silence.
Then louder laughter.
Yuri pointed. "See?! Synced!"
Cin nodded proudly. "True love."
I covered my face for a second.
This class is insane.
Keifer leaned closer and whispered quietly so only I could hear—
"You're smiling."
I immediately stopped.
"I'm not."
"You were."
I looked away first.
"Shut up."
He chuckled softly.
"See you tomorrow, wife."
I threw a pen at him.
He caught it.
Still smiling.
And I hate the fact that I didn't hate it.
