The place fell into a suffocating silence.
For several long seconds, Falcon simply stood there, his expression unreadable as he stared directly into Lorenzo's eyes. Neither man blinked. Neither looked away. It was the kind of silence only powerful men could create—the sort that made everyone else in the room instinctively hold their breath.
Finally, Falcon broke it.
"Two days."
Lorenzo raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lips twitching into an amused smile.
"Two days?" he repeated slowly. "I'm curious now... two days for what exactly, Falcon? Surely you didn't come all the way here just to throw random numbers at me."
Falcon's expression never changed.
"I'm asking you for exactly forty-eight hours. Within those two days, I'll recover every ounce of your missing gold and place it right in front of you."
The room froze.
Then Lorenzo suddenly burst into laughter.
It wasn't polite laughter.
It wasn't even mocking.
