Coral Port was larger than Alex had expected.
Cobblestone streets wound between white buildings with red-tile roofs, and the harbor dominated the eastern horizon. Dozens of ships crowded the docks while sailors shouted orders and seagulls wheeled overhead. The air smelled of salt, fish, and tar.
The people were just as striking. Central City had been large but mostly human, with the occasional elf or dwarf. Here, an elf negotiated with a dwarf, a cat-eared demi-human carried boxes through the crowd, and a small lizard-man sold fish from a stall by the road.
"Diverse," Emily murmured, taking it all in.
"Good place to disappear," Raven said with satisfaction.
Alex studied the crowd. There were enough unfamiliar faces that no one seemed to care who they were. For now, that was exactly what he wanted.
