Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 34,35,36

CHAPTER 34 — The Blackout Protocol

At exactly 9:30 AM, as the opening bell rang at the London Stock Exchange, the world went dark.

In Shanghai, Xu Kai slammed his palm onto the enter key. A virus—coded by the "Shadow" itself—ripped through the undersea fiber-optic cables. In London, the giant digital tickers froze. Then, they began to move backward.

"Panic is the best currency," Li Zheng Yuan said, watching the chaos from a wall of monitors in his Mayfair safehouse.

Billions of pounds evaporated in seconds. The "Council" members, safe in their country estates, watched their net worth crumble. Their automated sell-orders were blocked. Their offshore accounts were locked.

Gu Wei Chen walked in, tossing a burner phone onto the table. "The police are paralyzed. Every traffic light in Central London is stuck on red. The Bishop's former employers are screaming for a ceasefire."

Li Zheng Yuan didn't look up. His eyes were fixed on a single red line on the screen: the Council's private bank, St. George's Trust. "I don't do ceasefires, Wei Chen. I do acquisitions."

He turned to the Bishop, who was now untied, sitting in the corner like a gargoyle. "Go. Show them that their 'accidents' have found a new master."

CHAPTER 35 — The Fall of the Council

The first member of the Council, Lord Cavendish, was found in his study.

He wasn't dead. He was sitting in front of his computer, watching a live feed of his secret vault in Switzerland being emptied by masked men.

The Bishop stood behind him, a shadow in a priest's collar. "The CEO sends his regards, My Lord. He says your money was too old. It needed to circulate."

Across London, the same scene played out. One by one, the titans of the old world were visited by ghosts. They weren't killed—that would be too simple. They were stripped. Their reputations, their land, their secret ledgers—everything was transferred to the Zhen Group.

Sofia Rossi watched the data flow. She saw the wealth of an empire shifting East in real-time. "You're destroying the foundation of the European economy, Zheng Yuan. They'll hunt you forever for this."

Li Zheng Yuan walked over to her, his presence cold and suffocating. "Let them hunt. By the time they find me, I'll be the one who signs their paychecks."

Gu Wei Chen stepped up beside them, his hand resting on his holster. "The last one is ready. Sir Alistair. The head of the Council. He's waiting at the Tower of London. He wants a meeting."

CHAPTER 36 — The King of the Tower

The meeting took place on the battlements of the Tower of London, under a moon obscured by heavy clouds.

Sir Alistair, a man in his eighties with eyes like flint, didn't look afraid. He looked disgusted. "You think you can just walk in here and take what we've built over centuries? You're a parasite, Li Zheng Yuan."

Zheng Yuan walked to the edge of the stone wall, looking out at the dark Thames. "I'm not a parasite, Alistair. I'm the cure for your stagnation. You've held the world back with your 'tradition.' I'm pushing it forward with my 'madness.'"

"You're insane," Alistair spat. "Even your pet gangster here knows it."

Gu Wei Chen chuckled, blowing a cloud of smoke into the cold air. "I'm not his pet, old man. I'm his shadow. And shadows don't mind the dark."

Li Zheng Yuan turned, his eyes glowing with a terrifying, fractured light. The Voice was no longer a whisper; it was a roar of absolute certainty.

"Sign the transfer, Alistair. Or the Bishop will visit your grandchildren tonight."

The old man's face collapsed. He realized then that he wasn't dealing with a businessman. He was dealing with a force of nature that had no bottom, no limit, and no mercy.

He signed.

As the sun began to rise over a broken London, Li Zheng Yuan stood at the highest point of the Tower.

"Wei Chen," he said softly.

"Yeah?"

"The world is finally quiet."

Wei Chen looked at him, then at the city below. "For now, Zheng Yuan. For now."

But as they walked away, the reflection of Li Zheng Yuan in a puddle of rainwater didn't follow him. It stayed behind, staring at the Tower, a dark king on a new throne.
