The hospital was a fortress. The doors were barricaded, and there were guards at the entrance, armed with guns. Jiang Yuan and Li Na approached cautiously, their hands raised.
"Who are you?" one of the guards barked.
"Jiang Yuan and Li Na. We're survivors, following the beacons."
The guard studied them for a moment, then nodded. "Come in. But be quick. The safe zone is under attack."
Inside, the hospital was a scene of chaos. Wounded survivors were lined up in the hallways, and doctors and nurses were working frantically to treat them. The beacon was in the main lobby, a large, red light blinking on a pedestal.

Jiang Yuan and Li Na were given food and water, and Li Na's leg was re-splinted by a doctor. "The safe zone is being attacked by a massive horde," the doctor said. "We're holding them off, but we need help."
Jiang Yuan looked at Li Na, then at the guards. He knew what he had to do. "I'll help," he said.
