The scenery in the clearing would have looked unbelievably violent to any normal person but Danny was no longer a normal person , he was a Ghoul.
Infact his current state of mind brought an important question to Danny's mind , how did Kaneki do it. Not just Kaneki but literally everyone else who was transformed into a Ghoul and not born one.
From just the 23% he had integrated , Danny had begun to understand a Ghoul's hunger and even their minds abit already.
The same way that a human would look at steak or a really large burger freshly cooked and sitting right Infront of them.
The Demon that Danny had just eaten tasted absolutely divine , he got a tangy and spicy taste from the demon flesh sort of like spicy but very well seasoned juicy meat.
It took a while for his mind to settle from the experience of eating the Demon afterwhich Danny immediately ripped off his bloodlied sleeves and wiped his face and hands as best as he could.
Danny had just grabbed his sword to go look for other demons when more rustling came from the nearby bushes.
Danny quietly slipped behind a tree right beside him and waited until , from the forest , two more demons walked out sniffing the air in confusion.
"Look at this , it looks like something....ate the old fool."
These demons were noticeably younger than the first one Danny had eaten and one even seemed weaker if Danny's heightened senses and danger sense were anything to go by.
'It doesn't matter , all I see is more food delivering itself.'
Danny didn't even bother denying his like for the spicy Demon flesh and just accepted it. He was enjoying eating Demons and would probably also enjoy eating humans too , there was no point in fighting instinct and hunger now.
Danny waited until they found the unconscious head of the Demon then leaped out from behind the tree with a ferocious slash that took off the head of the stronger Demon among the two.
His new speed and strength surprised even Danny himself but he was quick to adapt and blurred towards he second Demon loping off its head too.
What followed was another feast as Danny cut open their chests and started with the demon's organs then moved on to their flesh and muscle tissue.
Each bite was an intense explosion of flavour which Danny savored so soon the demons were skeletal remains and skin with untouched midsection.
The gains were less impressive but still managed to unlock something useful and important.

The main reason that the template jumped up to that level was that Danny finally managed to find a nichirin when he checked the surrounding bushes.
Given the bloody handle though , it was unlikely the user was still alive.
Using the sword he completed the mission to defeat his first demon and unlocked another mission simply called Bane of Demon kind. He basically got exp for each Demon defeated and killed.
With the exp from eating , killing his first demon and afterwards killing the to weaker demons , Danny finally got his Kagune and Kakugan.
The long red signature tail of the SS rated Tatara was now fully his , with its uniquely hot and very flexible traits.
Danny had already tried it out and the the Kagune was truly impressive as could be seen from the surrounding trees that were ripped out and smashed.
Even his physical abilities had soared to the point that Danny could rip a 7 metre tree out of the ground and , with significant effort , swing it whole like a club.
'This should be enough to survive this crazy place atleast for now.'
Danny left the clearing immediately his tests were done and with his now much more heightened senses , he avoided demons and Slayers entirely.
With a meal of three demons , Danny would remain satisfied for atleast a week so there really wasn't a point to him hunting. However , that didn't stop him since he knew that without power in this world , he could die at anytime.
In the next five days , Danny or Genya {since he decided that he'd just take the name completely} went on to hunt down around 12 demons mostly to protect the large tree which had become his home for the seven days of the test.
Any demon that came within 10 metres of his tree died without even realizing how and Genya even noticed that his Kagune was actually capable of killing Demons because it naturally radiated heat.
Using the Kagune to kill a demon took a long time though so he didn't do it much and just finished them with the scavenged nichirin instead after he had extracted as much exp as possible.
Genya set aside the seventh day purely for relaxing and relax he did.
It was a day of no fighting or eating and basically lazing around on the highest branches of his tree while either mind blanking or enjoying the breeze.
Early in the morning of the Eight day , he made his way down the mountain and back to the gathering place.
The moment he reached though , Genya noticed something odd. The number of survivor's was atleast three more than expected.
'Is it an alternate world or something I did.'
Just as he had the thought , he realized that he probably saved these extra few by killing over a dozen demons.
It didn't bother him though since Genya was more than happy with his own personal gains and growth.

The twins waiting for participants congratulated everyone for succeeding then moved right on to presenting the ore so that they could choose.
Unlike in the original plot where Genya was supposed to be an asshole and harass the kids , the new Genya didn't even give them more than a passing glance and focused on the ores.
The one he chose seemed warmer than the rest which is why he picked it since he currently had fire traits.
Soon the entire exercise came to an end and Genya went along with the overly enthusiastic Tanjiro and everyone else to the Butterfly mansion to heal and rest.
