[System sign-in!]
[Ding! Congratulations, Host, on acquiring the Eye of Identification! (Red)]
[Eye of Identification: Allows you to view attributes such as others' loyalty and favourability!]
'It came out red! This is a genuinely useful skill. With this, I never have to worry about a subordinate stabbing me in the back!'
Kaito looked at what he had gotten from today's sign-in and decided to try it out on someone first. He walked out of his room into the courtyard and immediately spotted the expressionless girl feeding fish by the pond.
'It's decided. You're the test subject. Eye of Identification!'
Kanao Tsuyuri
Loyalty: 80
Favourability: 91
Abilities: None
Overall Strength Evaluation: E-rank
Note: The ranking system follows the Slime World standard, from lowest to highest: F — E — D — C — B — A — Special A — S — Special S — SS — SSS. Each rank is further divided into three levels, such as F-, F, F+.
Simple Combat Power Comparison:
F-rank: Little to no combat power.
E-rank: Slightly weaker than an average adult. The most common rank among Slime World inhabitants.
D-rank: For human warriors, encountering multiple individuals of this rank is life-threatening. Ranga before his evolution belonged to this rank.
C-rank: Stronger than a well-trained regular army. Orcs were originally D-rank, but under the influence of the Orc Lord's unique skill [Starved], they achieved Pseudo C-rank combat power.
B-rank: Capable of destroying a village single-handedly. Ogres are B-rank, considered relatively high-level in the Slime World.
A-rank [Disaster Class]: A level of danger with a high probability of causing significant damage to a town.
Special A-rank [Disaster Class]: A level of danger capable of bringing a nation to a crisis, such as the destructive activities of high-ranking demons or devils. The Orc Lord was Special A-rank.
S-rank [Calamity Class]: Usually refers to Demon Lord Seeds. Defined as a threat that a small country cannot handle, and that a large country could only barely contain at full effort.
Special S-rank [Cataclysm Class]: Applies to awakened Demon Lords and Dragon Species. A threat that no single nation can handle, requiring the elimination of national barriers and collective effort to survive. Representative figures include the Octagram Demon Lords and Rimuru during her Rapheal period.
SS-rank [World-Ending Class]: An existence whose rampage would trigger a world-ending crisis. Representative figures include Guy, Milim, Ramiris in her prime, Rimuru with Manas: Ciel, and the protagonist during the [Nascent Soul] stage.
SSS-rank [Creation Class]: Figures of creation class. Representative figures include the Creator God Veldanava and Rimuru at the end of her story.
'Whoa, the favourability is already that high? I have barely even spoken to her!'
Kaito stared at Kanao Tsuyuri's attribute panel in surprise, then quickly understood why.
The main reason was simple: he had saved Kanae Kocho.
For Kanao Tsuyuri, Kanae Kocho was the person who had given her a new life and a reason to keep going. Saving Kanae was, in a way, saving Kanao herself.
Such high favourability made complete sense. If anything, Kaito was more curious about what Kanae Kocho's numbers looked like.
After all, he had always had a soft spot for mature older sisters.

"Ohayo, Kaito-sama!"
Kanae Kocho, who had just stepped out of the house, greeted Kaito, who was standing in the courtyard staring at Kanao.
Kaito turned and greeted her back:
"Good morning, Kanae! I said before, just call me by my name. No need for the honorific."
"How could I? You are now the head of the entire Demon Slayer Corps. Calling you by your name alone would be too disrespectful. (;`O´)o"
Kaito sighed helplessly at her persistence:
"Alright, alright, Kaito-sama is fine then. Just calling me by my full name every time feels too formal."
Kanae Kocho's heart gave a quiet little skip.
'Does he want to be closer to me? Or am I reading too much into it?'
"As you wish! I just noticed you staring at Kanao. Are you worried about her?"
"Hmm. She hasn't said a word since I first saw her. She just stares at that coin. Did something happen to her?"
Kaito already knew the answer from the original story, but he let Kanae explain.
Kanao was a girl with a deeply tragic past. Abandoned by her parents at a young age, she had been sold by traffickers until fate brought her to Kanae Kocho, who took her in and gave her a home. But the damage had already been done. She had no idea how to act on her own feelings, so Kanae had given her the coin to help her make choices when she felt lost.
Kanae Kocho looked over at Kanao, who was crouched by the pond, and quietly told Kaito everything.
Kaito listened and felt the weight of it settle in his chest:
"I see. Tragedy really does find its way everywhere. She is lucky to have you."
"You flatter me!"
'Eye of Identification! Target: Kanae Kocho!'
Kanae Kocho
Loyalty: 92
Favourability: 95
Abilities: [Flower Breathing], [Flower Breathing: Sixth Form — Whirlwind Peach]…
Overall Strength Evaluation: C-rank
'Both loyalty and favourability are unexpectedly high. Does 95 favourability mean what I think it means?!'
[System: Allow me to introduce you to the three great illusions of life!]
"Kanao-chan, come here!"
Kanae called over to the girl by the pond. Kanao stopped feeding the fish and trotted over without a word. When she reached Kanae's side, her small, clear voice came out:
"Ohayo, Kanae Onee-san!"
She fell silent immediately after, offering nothing further. Kanae smiled helplessly and gestured toward Kaito:
"Kanao-chan, don't be rude! When you see Kaito-sama, you should greet him too."
"Oh. Ohayo, Kaito-sama!"
"Good morning to you too, Kanao. Your nii-chan has something tasty for you!"
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a can of Coke, holding it out to Kanao Tsuyuri.
She took it blankly, turning it over in her hands with no idea what to do with it.
Seeing her stare at the pull-tab in complete confusion, Kaito gently took it back, popped it open with a hiss, and handed it back to her.
"Go on, thank him!"
Kanao Tsuyuri took the can, and in her flat, soft voice said:
"Arigato, Kaito-sama."
Looking at the cute, expressionless little girl in front of him, even Kaito, who was not a lolicon by any stretch, felt a powerful urge to reach out and pinch her cheek.
'Kawaii! A stoic little girl, truly the best!'
[System: That thought carries a minimum sentence of three years. Just so you know. (;¬_¬)]
"You're welcome, Kanao-chan. From now on, just call me Kaito nii-chan. I've always wanted a little sister!"
"Mm. Kaito nii-chan."
That soft, quiet voice saying those two words filled something in Kaito's chest. He reached out and gave the top of her head a gentle pat.
Just then, Shinobu Kocho stepped out of the house, took one look at the scene, and immediately broke into a sprint:
"Hey! You bad guy, get your hands off her! Stop bullying Kanao!"
Kaito watched her charging across the courtyard and let a slow, mischievous smile spread across his face.
