The tension has still been thick in the air ,Far from the clash of steel and fang, Mother Sera sat hunched by the fire. The camp was restless, wolves pacing in tight circle
Her gaze wasn't on the flames her clouded eyes looked through them, beyond them, into the threads of fate twisting in the night.
Her staff tapped once, twice, as she rocked in her seat. Her lips whispered fragments of words too old for the young wolves to follow. The fire hissed and cracked, but her voice slipped through it, thin
yet sharp. The red moon binds," she murmured. Wolf and vampire. Curse and crown. Salvation… or ruin.
A boy no older than seventeen winters crept closer. His fur bristled, but curiosity dragged him near.
I sat observing everything even though I played oblivious to my surroundings
"Mother Sera," he whispered, "what do you see?"
Her pale eyes fixed on him, and he shivered under their weight. "Threads," she rasped. "Silver and crimson, twisted together. Pulled tight by the blood moon. When threads pull… something must snap, the boy asked mother sera what must we do ? I was waiting to hear something atleast that would make me feel a bit better hearing it amidst the tension in the pack but she said nothing. Later that evening I was in the forest to clear my head , my fur white as snow when I transformed and my eyes brown I took long runs to clear my head, panting another wolf joined me in my tracks, it was Seth he was the son of dravkia another alpha of a pack at the edge of the forest . We have been betrothed since birth he stroded along , Lyra he said softly (through telepathy) you've been avoiding me ,no words came out of my mouth because I knew I was , he's mother never seemed to like me because of the beef she had with my mother when they where younger and the striking resemblance we had made her resent me . Irritation filled my throat with rage ,what do you want Seth? I just wanted to know how things were with you we haven't seen in months Lyra I've missed you , I didn't budge . He howled and took off I knew he was going to tell his father about this interaction which meant more trouble for me when we meet . I transformed back and headed for the bonfire we had as a pack. Arriving everyone was seated around, stories shared by mother sera and other elderly wolves of the pack , I noticed my father and mother quietly slip away nobody noticed I followed them trailing at their backs quietly not to close not to far so that they couldn't catch my scent . They lead me to a cabin, old rusty with a dim lit candle on a table they where speaking to someone? ! The voice wasn't familiar which meant it was a member of the pack but something else a human? A vampire? Or something else I wondered, I couldn't faintly hear their voices I listened to the conversation they where talking to vampires?! The same vampires they hated and held with extreme disregard oh great heavens! I muttered. Their voices slowly got louder and it turned to an argument about lands ? We where sharing our lands and forest with them? My head started spinning,I couldn't bear to listen to the conversation anymore and I took of while transforming into the forest my parents heard the rustle of leaves and knew someone followed them. But they didn't bother to follow the trail . I ran for an hour until I reached a spring secluded in the forest the moon was reflecting on the rimples of the water while I stared at it , got back to my human form and laid beside the spring wondering why my parents would publicly humiliate me in front of the pack for conversing with a vampire? They where no different from me , I bursted Into tears and cried loudly atleast this was a place I couldet my emotions out without anyone judging or making sneaky remarks. Tears rolled my eyes till I succumbed to a deep sleep. The next morning I was back home my parents waiting on the front porch Lyra where have you been? My father questioned I even sent your brother with a pack of young wolves to look for you . I didn't bother answering I was filled with rage and anger against them, hypocrites! I muttered . I entered my room and bolted the door against me , my parents knocking Lyra , my mother said you are out daughter and your accountable to us as far as your under this pack and roof . I said nothing after some time they left the door . I laid on my bed and promised myself I was going to get the truth out of them but not without seeing this vampire once again. I was going to sneak out of the house and return before dusk without them seeing me , I gently opened my window and carefully jumped down thanks to my instincts as a wolf that was easy I was in the ground without any scratches cleaned my paws against the green grass and took off into the forest I tried to catch a glimpse of his scent but I couldn't it was like he was never here I wasn't going back home without seeing him I ran and ran and tried to uncover his tracks if possible all to no avail the rain that fell days ago had wiped out any tracks if any ,I was frustrated and sat beside a tree to rest and acorn dropped on my head ouch I muttered what the hell! I was already frustrated assumed it was one of the squirrels trying to get food took a glimpse on to the tree and lo and behold this creature was staring at me while leaning on a tree branch for balance , hey little wolf he's voice was more calm and relaxed than the first time we met, I sharply responded who is a little wolf, vampire? Heyy wolf don't let it get to you I was just kidding he said without a smile on his face he never smiles.
