Chapter 198 - Chapter 198: Number One in the Universe Again!

BOOM!

With a massive explosion, Vegeta's body flew backward like a broken kite, slamming heavily into a giant boulder. He was embedded directly into the rock, with debris flying everywhere.

But it wasn't over yet. Gas flew up to the boulder and unleashed a barrage of punches and kicks on Vegeta. Every strike carried terrifying power, causing more and more cracks to appear on the boulder until it was on the verge of collapsing.

Vegeta howled in pain, but because he was wedged into the rock, he couldn't move and had to take the beating head-on.

"You bastard! How dare you hit me!" Vegeta was fuming with rage. However, his energy was nearly depleted; he could only seethe in frustration while being pummeled.

"Vegeta!" Old Goku (Goku) saw Vegeta being beaten and didn't hesitate for a second. His body instantly turned into a golden streak of light as he rushed forward, throwing a heavy punch at Gas's back.

This punch condensed all of Old Goku's power, the air itself letting out a booming sound from the impact.

Gas seemed to have anticipated the sneak attack. He spun around abruptly, throwing a punch of his own toward Old Goku. Purple-red energy condensed on his fist, forming a sharp blade of Ki.

BANG!

Their fists collided heavily, and a powerful shockwave radiated from the center of the impact. The ground was torn up, and the surrounding boulders shook precariously.

However, when Gas saw Old Goku's face, his pupils shrank violently. The image of Bardock instantly surfaced in his mind. That face was exactly the same as the Bardock who had forced him to discard his sense of self all those years ago!

"AAAAAAAH!"

Gas seemed to be triggered by a massive psychological shock. His body flew backward uncontrollably, tumbling several times in the air before slamming into the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Old Goku was stunned, standing there scratching his head. "How did he just fly off like that?"

Looking at Gas again, he was now clutching his head, rolling on the ground and letting out cries of agony. The purple-red aura around him flickered unsteadily, clearly trapped in some chaotic memory.

"Incredible!" Son Goku (GT) watched the battlefield, unable to help but click his tongue in amazement, his eyes full of wonder. A single punch in base form sent Gas flying?

No, Son Goku quickly realized. It was more like that fellow Gas had suddenly realized something and flew back of his own accord.

"That's it, remember it quickly, Gas!" Elec hovered in mid-air, his clothes fluttering in the wind, his voice filled with unconcealed anticipation and surprise. "Once you remember, you'll never lose to anyone again, right?"

Gas's body froze. It felt as if something had suddenly exploded in his mind, a flash of inspiration striking him. The next second, his vacant pupils constricted, instantly regaining their sharp luster, and his entire aura became completely different.

SNAP!

A pale golden light flashed across Gas. The clothes that had been shredded by energy just moments ago were restored to their complete state, as if time had flowed backward.

Gas clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white. His gaze was as deep as an abyss, seemingly able to pierce through everything.

"Excellent, that's it!" A satisfied smile finally appeared on Elec's face, his eyes full of triumph. "This is my brother, the strongest in the universe! Go, Gas, deal with all these meddlesome pests!"

Gas nodded slightly, his neck turning slightly. His gaze, like a cold blade, slowly swept toward Old Goku and Vegeta.

Old Goku and Vegeta instantly tensed up, their faces showing expressions of vigilance as their Ki involuntarily surged. They could clearly feel that the current Gas was a completely different person from before.

SNAP!

Gas suddenly glared, and two invisible waves of energy, almost physical in nature, instantly enveloped Old Goku and Vegeta. Both felt their bodies grow heavy, as if filled with lead; even raising a hand became exceptionally difficult.

Old Goku looked down at his body in shock, saying in disbelief, "What's going on? My body suddenly feels so heavy!"

"Damn it! We fell for a trick!" Vegeta's face darkened, fine beads of cold sweat seeping from his forehead. "The pressure from this energy is too strong. If we're not careful, we might be crushed flat!"

"Kill them!" Elec looked down at the two of them, his tone icy, as if issuing an execution order for ants.

SHING!

At that moment, a figure suddenly flickered. Granolah appeared behind Elec like an arrow released from a bow, his fist condensed with thick energy, letting out a whistle as it tore through the air, aiming straight for Elec's back.

"Elec! I will never forgive you!" Granolah roared, his voice filled with overwhelming hatred. He hadn't forgotten the grudge of his mother and his clansmen for a single moment.

Elec's face changed instantly. He wanted to dodge, but it was too late. Just as Granolah's fist was about to land—

Gas suddenly raised his hand and pointed at Elec from a distance. An invisible force instantly wrapped around Elec. The next second—

SHING!

Elec's figure vanished from the spot without a trace. Granolah's fist hit nothing but air, stirring up a ripple of energy. Gas then pointed at a nearby hilltop.

SHING!

Elec's figure appeared on the hilltop, completely unharmed.

"Damn it!" Granolah looked at his empty palm, his heart full of frustration, his rage almost consuming him.

"What kind of move was that? Was it Instant Transmission?" Son Goku (GT) rested his chin on his hand, his brow slightly furrowed as he thought seriously. "Impressive, I didn't expect it could be used like that."

Beside him, Broly also nodded. Although he didn't speak, the gravity in his eyes said everything.

"Hey, Granolah, why are you suddenly attacking your employer? How rude," Elec mocked from the hilltop, his tone full of disdain. "Doing this really disappoints me."

"You killed my mother!" Granolah looked up abruptly, his eyes bloodshot, roaring at Elec with a hatred that almost overflowed.

"Don't get it wrong, Granolah," Elec chuckled, his tone playful. "If it weren't for me, you'd be dead long ago. I'm your savior."

"It's not just my mother!" Granolah's arms spread wide, his hands forming a pistol shape. Two dazzling golden lights quickly condensed at his fingertips, growing brighter and emitting a scorching heat. "If it weren't for you, the residents of this planet wouldn't have all died out!"

Granolah brought his hands together, the two golden lights merging into a thicker beam, aimed dead at Elec's body, ready to fire at any moment.

"Is this how you treat your savior?" Elec wasn't panicked at all, still smiling calmly. "If I wanted to kill you, it would be as simple as crushing an ant. Even now, it's the same."

SHING!

Before he could finish, Gas's figure suddenly vanished. The next second, he appeared below Granolah, his right leg carrying powerful energy as it slammed into Granolah's arm.

CRACK!

A crisp sound of bone breaking rang out. Granolah's arm instantly twisted at a bizarre angle—clearly a comminuted fracture.

Intense pain surged, and Granolah couldn't help but let out a heart-wrenching wail that echoed through the valley.

SHOO!

Gas didn't stop. He extended two fingers of his right hand, their tips flickering with eerie purple-red energy like a viper's fangs, shooting toward Granolah's eyes at extreme speed.

Granolah didn't even have a chance to dodge. He felt his vision go black as his eyes instantly lost their light, his body flying backward uncontrollably.

THUD!

Granolah landed heavily beside Elec, his body curling up in pain, leaving only weak groans.

Elec pulled a small handgun from his waist, the cold metal muzzle pressing against the back of Granolah's heart. His tone carried a cruel smile. "I'd like to express my gratitude for your outstanding performance up until now."

"Ah... ah..." Granolah could only let out painful whimpers, having no strength left to resist.

"So, let's have you die the same way as your mother." Elec gripped the handgun, leaning down to whisper in Granolah's ear, his voice like a snake's hiss. "Farewell, Granolah."

BANG!

The gunshot rang out, and a piercing beam of energy shot from the muzzle, directly piercing through Granolah's heart. Granolah's body twitched once, then lost all movement, falling from the air like a pile of mud.

SPLASH!

Granolah plunged into the lake below, kicking up a massive spray of water, and soon vanished from sight.

"That feels much better." Elec tucked the handgun back into his waist and turned to Gas, his smile casual. "I settled him for you. You don't mind, do you?"

"I have no interest in him anymore." Gas's face was expressionless, his tone as flat as if he were talking about something trivial.

"Damn it! This guy..." Son Goku (GT) was fuming with rage, clenching his fists to rush forward, but he was stopped by Vegeta. Old Goku was also trembling with anger. However, he and Vegeta had very little strength left.

SHING!

Vegeta suddenly raised his hand, and a ball of blue energy flew from his palm, landing steadily on Old Goku. Feeling the familiar aura in the energy, Old Goku showed a look of surprise and looked back at Vegeta. "Vegeta?"

"This is my remaining energy. Take it and use it," Vegeta said, panting, his face turning a bit paler. He then looked at the Son Goku and Broly from the other world, his tone firm. "I said it before—you guys just stay here and watch! There's no need to interfere in our business! Unless... we're beaten to death."

"You really are stubborn, Vegeta." Son Goku (GT) smiled helplessly, but his eyes carried a hint of respect. "I hope you don't die."

"Don't worry, we're not that easy to kill!" Vegeta grinned. Although his aura was weak, his eyes remained sharp. "This battle has gone on long enough; it's time to end it."

"Alright then, Broly and I will stay here and watch." Son Goku (GT) nodded firmly, no longer insisting. He knew Vegeta's pride wouldn't allow anyone to interfere in a battle that belonged to them.

"Kakarot, you can still fight him. You must take him down!" Vegeta turned to Old Goku, his expression heavy, placing all his hope on him.

Old Goku nodded silently, clenching the energy ball in his hand as his aura began to rise slowly.

"Elec, although I had some hesitation, I really do need the power of the number one in the universe." Gas looked at his hands, his tone calm but carrying an unquestionable firmness. "Thank you for making the wish for me."

"Don't say such silly things." Elec smiled slightly, his tone carrying a hint of amusement. "For my dear brother, isn't that only natural? We have other urgent matters to attend to; we don't have time to keep wasting here. Finish them off quickly."

"I understand!" Gas nodded, a thick killing intent instantly surfacing in his eyes as the energy around him raged like a storm.

SNAP!

Old Goku no longer hesitated. The blue light around him suddenly exploded, and his hair instantly turned a dazzling blue.

Super Saiyan Blue form, officially activated!

The next moment, Old Goku turned into a blue streak of light, rushing toward Gas at incredible speed, his fist condensed with full power, slamming toward the opponent's chest.

Gas's eyes narrowed, his arms crossing in front of his chest to block.

BANG!

A dull thud rang out as the two powerful energies collided, stirring up a massive wave of air that shattered the surrounding rocks. The two descended slowly from the air, their feet landing steadily on the ground, facing each other. The ground beneath them cracked into web-like patterns, unable to withstand their auras.

"I didn't expect you to break free from my control. You're actually pretty good," Gas said, looking at Old Goku with a mocking smirk.

After his initial surge of anger, Old Goku gradually calmed down. His eyes became exceptionally serene as he spoke flatly, "I have no reason to fight you. Could you please just leave this planet?"

"You're remarkably calm," Gas laughed, his tone full of disdain. "Don't tell me you aren't pissed off after watching your friend get killed?"

"I am angry," Old Goku shook his head, his voice remaining level. "But that emotion only interferes with the execution of my techniques. I cannot allow myself to be controlled by rage."

"Interferes with technique execution?" The Son Goku from the other world (GT) was stunned, scratching his head. He didn't quite understand the meaning behind those words. Anger is supposed to boost a Saiyan's power, so how could it interfere with performance?

"Hmph, you don't even understand that much," Vegeta glanced at him, his tone carrying a hint of mockery. "To put it simply, the other you has already learned how to activate Ultra Instinct while in the Super Saiyan Blue form. And the prerequisite for Ultra Instinct is to suppress the rage in your heart and maintain absolute calm. If you blindly let anger cloud your mind, you won't be able to use the technique properly."

"So that's how it is!" Son Goku (GT) realized, nodding as he stroked his chin, his eyes full of admiration. "I didn't expect the other me to be strong enough to reach that level."

"Hmph, looking at your state, you clearly haven't mastered Ultra Instinct yet," Vegeta continued to mock, his tone carrying a bit of smugness. "The you from the other world is really quite pathetic! The me from that world should have already surpassed you by now, right?"

"Well..." Son Goku (GT) rubbed his head sheepishly, admitting honestly, "The Vegeta from our world has indeed become very strong."

"Oh?" Vegeta raised an eyebrow, a spark of battle intent flashing in his eyes. "Once my stamina recovers to its peak, you'll have to show me just how strong the Super Saiyan 4 or 5 from your world really is."

"No problem!" Son Goku (GT) readily agreed.

Beside them, Broly remained silent, merely casting a flat glance at Vegeta before looking back at Son Goku. Broly's mouth twitched. Son Goku is about to set Vegeta up again! It wasn't enough to mess with the Vegeta from our world; now he's going to mess with the Vegeta from this one too.

On the other side, the battle between Old Goku and Gas had officially begun.

"Since you already know our plan, we can't let you leave here alive!" Elec hovered in mid-air, his tone icy. "Even if you get on your knees and beg for mercy now, it won't do any good, Saiyan!"

"Exactly!" Gas grinned, suddenly pressing his right hand downward, his eyes full of cruelty.

SNAP!

A massive metal plate suddenly appeared in the sky, its surface covered in sharp spikes that glinted with a cold metallic luster. The plate slammed down toward Old Goku at extreme speed, carrying the weight of a falling mountain.

Old Goku was startled and didn't dare take it head-on. He hurriedly dove to the side, narrowly avoiding the impact of the metal plate.

BOOM!

The metal plate smashed into the ground, creating a massive crater and sending debris flying everywhere. Before Old Goku could catch his breath, Gas suddenly brought his hands together, and energy condensed once more.

Two more spiked metal plates instantly appeared on either side of Old Goku's body, like two iron gates slamming shut on him. Seeing that he could no longer dodge, Old Goku could only spread his arms and concentrate his energy there, bracing himself to stop the two plates from crushing him.

CRACK!

The spikes on the metal plates nearly pierced his arms. Old Goku's face turned pale from the shock, but he gritted his teeth and held on.

SHOO!

With a sudden burst of strength from his arms, Old Goku pushed the two metal plates aside and took the opportunity to soar into the sky, escaping the pincer trap.

CLANG!

With the resistance gone, the two metal plates slammed into each other, locking tight with an ear-piercing screech of metal on metal. Gas let out a cold laugh and raised his hand again, his fingers twitching slightly.

The next second, six more spiked metal plates suddenly appeared around Old Goku like six small mountains, hurtling toward him from different directions. Old Goku dodged nimbly in the air, his body spinning like a top as he avoided one plate after another.

Then, catching an opening, he reached out and grabbed the edge of one plate, using it as a weapon to smash into the others.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

A series of violent metallic collisions rang out, accompanied by the harsh sound of shattering. Under Old Goku's assault, the metal plates were smashed into fragments, scattering across the ground.

Gas's gaze swept across the battlefield, quickly locking onto a nearby cluster of abandoned buildings. Amidst the ruins stood a tottering high tower, surrounded by countless piles of construction waste. Gas's mouth curled into a cold smirk as he made a grasping motion toward that area.

HUM!

Invisible energy instantly enveloped the entire tower and several piles of debris. As if controlling toys, he lifted these massive objects into the air and hurled them violently toward Old Goku!

The tower fell with a whistling wind, and debris poured down like a rainstorm. Old Goku's pupils constricted, and his body instantly entered a combat state, leaping nimbly among the collapsing structures. He stepped on flying stones, avoiding the shadow of the falling tower, narrowly dodging the onslaught.

Before Old Goku could breathe a sigh of relief, a harsh screech of metal came from behind him.

THUD!

A rusty, ancient train car, like an out-of-control beast, charged from the side and slammed heavily into Old Goku's back. The massive impact made Old Goku groan, his body sent flying like a broken kite, smashing through several abandoned steel beams along the way.

"Incredible! Gas can actually control things that big!" Macki watched from a distance, her eyes shining with excitement, as if she were enjoying a spectacular performance.

Enduring the sharp pain in his back, Old Goku performed a backflip in mid-air and landed steadily on top of the train car. Gas drifted down slowly, standing silently behind him, the energy around him causing the train's metal skin to vibrate slightly.

"Sorry for making you play with my props for so long," Gas said with a smile, though his tone was full of contempt. "I just wanted to test my current strength; I didn't expect to kill you with these things."

Old Goku remained silent, merely clenching his fists as the blue aura around him grew even denser. He knew the real battle was only just beginning.

"Come on, let me see your full power, you damn son of a Saiyan!" Gas snorted coldly, his energy suddenly exploding, causing the debris on the ground to hover.

Old Goku wasted no more words. His body turned into a blue streak of light, charging straight at Gas, his fist condensed with full power as it aimed for the opponent's face. Gas was prepared, however. He lightly tapped the top of the train with his toe and jumped backward, easily dodging the punch.

Old Goku's fist missed, hitting the train's metal skin with a loud CLANG, instantly denting it with a massive crater.

Over the next few minutes, Old Goku launched a continuous assault, fists blurring and kicks flying. Every single one was easily dodged by Gas. He was like a predator toying with its prey, always maintaining a subtle distance from Old Goku, not even letting his clothes be touched.

"Vegeta, the me from this world... he shouldn't be in peak condition right now, right?" The observing Son Goku (GT) frowned, unable to help but turn and ask. He could see that Old Goku's movements were a bit sluggish, and his aura wasn't as stable as before.

"Of course not," Vegeta nodded, his expression grave. "When we were fighting Granolah earlier, both his and my energy were nearly depleted. It's already impressive that he's holding out this long."

"But this fellow Gas sure knows a lot of strange magic," Son Goku (GT) mused, stroking his chin, his eyes full of curiosity. "Being able to control such heavy objects and even bind someone's body... it's pretty interesting."
