When I opened my eyes again, all I saw was an empty black void, I looked down to my body and saw that it looked the same yet completely different from my in real life body. While it did have my IRL shape and structure, it was completely white and a bit transparent. I also felt kind of… off? I guess you could say? I don't know, everything... just felt so surreal and odd, I felt like I was floating, I felt like I was both physically there and not at the same time.
Before I could ponder… Heh, ponder… pounder, heh. Ahem, before I could ponder more about my state of being. I heard a strange gender neutral and emotionless voice.

'Okay, that's actually kinda freaky as heck. But that's what I signed up for I guess.' Mentally shrugging, I pressed yes with my whitish transparent hand and then…..

Okay wow, those were only a few, but there are literally thousands of choices. But, what really caught my eye after searching a bit, was the [Random] option. I debated a bit about choosing this option, on one hand, I could get a really cool race, but on the on the otherhand, I could end up with a really crappy one too…. 'Hah! If its one thing I learned from anime protags, its always the best option to go all in on fate! Lady Luck! DONT FAIL ME NOW!!!'
I yelled mentally and proceeded to choose the [Random] option without hesitation….

After crying and cursing at the world for a few minutes, i pulled myself back together and pretended nothing happened. I finally looked back at where the messages appeared and saw a new notification.

'Gaia Urth? Is that what the planet is called in the game? Sounds a bit unoriginal, but eh, it kind of has a nice ring to it...' I shook my head at that and focused at the task at hand. This is where it all would start, I wasn't sure what my goal would be in this game world.... But, if I could, I wanted to be a hero. Their people I admire, in both real life and fiction, I wanted to be like one of them, to be a person that saves other's, that makes them feel safe and gives them hope... Yeah, I'm going to be a hero... No, I'll become one!
Whatever it takes, I'll be come a hero. After making that choice in my mind, I closed my eyes and pressed [Yes] and braced myself for what was about to happen.

'I wasn't sure if anything actually happened, but I could feel something had changed. My body felt more *real*, I also felt amazing, like I was reborn... No, I can think about all that stuff later, let's focus'. I told myself and slowly started opening my eyes.
...And what I saw blew my f*cking mind. I wasn't in a village or something like I expected, but rather, I was in what looked to be an academy of some sorts, and it looked beautiful, and I'm not just talking about the architecture of the building, but the way that everything looked, it was like I was seeing everything for the first time... everything was just so clear, colorful and beautiful.
"Take your breath away when you see it for the first time, eh redhead?" Suddenly a masculine voice said next to me and startling me out of my thoughts. "Y-yeah, it's like I'm seeing things for the first time." I said and the guy just chuckled.
"Yeah, I couldn't agree more, also, the names Scorn Fordon, named after my great grandfather." The guy said with a smile and stuck out his hand for a handshake. I took it and shook and said. "Brennan Deviland, but you can call me Ren, nice to meet you."
"Ren huh? Are you japanese by chance?" Scorn asked as we let go of each others hands. "I'm half Japanese and Irish actually. My mother is Japanese and my Dad is Irish."
"That's pretty neat, anyways, do you know what you have to do here? If not, I can give you a quick rundown if you want?" Scorn said while looking around.
"Yeah, that would be huge help man. I have no idea what the heck is even going on or where we are." I said while also trying to look around to see what he was looking for. Scorn just nodded like a wise sage before he started his explanation.
"Okay well, I haven't been here for long, but I learned from asking around for a bit. But apparently what this academy is, is that's it's basically the tutorial. They are going to have classes for the next 2 to 3 weeks where they will e plain to us how this 'world' works and also give us some training so we aren't completely helpless when we're let out into the wild, so to say."
"Damn, that's one hell of a way to do a tutorial, but where exactly should we go-"
I was interrupted by a purple transparent screen appearing in front of me and Scorn that said.

I turned to look at Scorn and said. "Well, shall we my compadre?" He just rolled his eyes at me and nodded while we made our towards the inside of the academy by following the holographic map.

Once we made it inside, I was blown away by how extremely extravagant the inside was. Like what the hell? I continued to look around looking at all the different people that were gathered here while waiting for something to happen or for someone to guide us to our classes, I guess? Just then-
"WELCOME EVERYONE! My name is Polaris! I am an artificial higher angel created by our great and glorious God, Apotheosis! My job is to teach all of you otherworlders the basics of Gaia Urth so that you don't accidentally get killed the moment you set foot into the wild!"
Wow, talk about detailed lore, I mean, it wasn't that detailed actually, but I mean, it could be. I looked to my left where Scorn was standing besides me and saw him shake a bit. I can't really blame the guy, I was just as excited. But unfortunately my thoughts were once again interrupted by Polaris.
"Now! All of you shall be transported to a classroom where one of my fellow artificial angels shall teach you the basics along with a clone of myself, yes I know, I can clone myself. Impressed right? Anyways, I hope all of you ingrain the knowledge that we will teach into both your hearts and minds! My Apotheosis be with you!"
'So I guess this how things start for real huh?' I thought as a whitish blue light started enveloped me.
