Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : Grandmaster Yu Xiaogang: Manifest, My Spirit!

Time passed until the year Yu Xiaogang turned six, and the day of the Martial Soul Awakening finally arrived. On this very important day, the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect invited many guests to watch the ceremony. These guests included smaller Sects that worked with them, members of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School and the Clear Sky Sect from the Upper Three Sects, and guests from the Lower Four Sects.

Spirit Hall even sent a Titled Douluo to watch, which showed how much importance everyone placed on this Awakening event. The main reason for all this attention was Yu Xiaogang himself. He was the son of the Thunder Douluo Yu Yuanzhen, who was the only Titled Douluo of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect at that time. Everyone was waiting to see his results in the lineup for this Martial Soul Awakening.

At the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect, the atmosphere was heavy. The Grand Elder of the Sect snorted coldly as he remembered those events. He said that even now, thinking back to the scene from that year still feels shameful. The Second Elder shook his head and agreed, saying they really thought it would be the debut of the next Sect Master, but it turned out like that. Another Elder mentioned that it seems since then, their Sect has never held a grand Awakening Ceremony again.

The Grand Elder spoke up again, asking how they could ever hold such a ceremony again after their faces were completely lost. He noted that not only the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School and the Clear Sky Sect saw it, but even Spirit Hall and the Lower Four Sects watched them make a fool of themselves.

He added that he was sure there are still people using that incident to mock them even today. One of the Elders sighed and said that now that this heavenly curtain is showing the scenes from back then, they are all going to be ridiculed again.

The angry voices and sighs of the Elders rang in the ears of Yu Yuanzhen. As the Sect Master, he sat in the center with a face ashen from embarrassment. He had no way to argue with them. The events of that year had dealt a heavy blow to the reputation of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect, and they had no way to get back the respect they lost. Forcing down the anger in his heart, Yu Yuanzhen looked up at the heavenly curtain. He wondered to himself how the Dragon God Douluo version of his son had actually achieved such a thing.

On the screen, all the guests were gathered together. Under everyone's gaze, the young Yu Xiaogang held his head high with a proud smile on his face. He cast a disdainful glance at the other children who were about to awaken their Spirits with him. He was the first one to step forward alone. Looking at his high-spirited son, Yu Yuanzhen was also beaming with joy.

The previous Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School looked at Yu Yuanzhen and spoke in a way that was clearly meant to flatter him. He said he heard Yu Xiaogang had already begun researching Spirits at a young age and had his own special insights into them, and he asked if this was true.

Yu Yuanzhen replied with a big smile, saying it was nothing and that the boy just had some shallow insights. He added that for Spirit Masters, what truly matters is their own strength. He told the other Sect Master that there was certainly no need to worry about talent, because the son of a Titled Douluo could not be bad.

The Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School agreed and pointed out the two geniuses of the Clear Sky Sect who were there that day. He said they were also sons of a Titled Douluo and their talent was aimed at surpassing their father in the future.

He said that in his view, the task of adding a second Titled Douluo to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect might fall upon Yu Yuanzhen's son. He spoke as if it were a matter of course while also giving a nod to the Clear Sky Sect. Yu Yuanzhen and the members of the Clear Sky Sect looked very delighted to hear this. However, the Titled Douluo from Spirit Hall who was standing on the side did not look very pleased at all.

Over at the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, Ning Fengzhi looked at his father's face in the heavenly curtain. He shook his head while reminiscing and said his father's praise back then wasn't actually out of line. He noted that both Tang Hao and Tang Xiao did become Titled Douluos, and Tang Hao even inherited the title of Clear Sky Douluo.

He added that it was just a pity that even his father didn't expect the son of a dignified Titled Douluo would actually awaken his Spirit like that. Bone Douluo Gu Rong gave a cold laugh and said one can only say that the heavens did not want the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect to rise. Sword Douluo Chen Xin, who was beside him, did not say anything. A simple Spirit Grand Master like Yu Xiaogang could not interest him at all.

What truly made him curious was the Yu Xiaogang from the parallel world who was given the title of Dragon God. He knew that being called a Dragon God meant the man must have powerful strength to hold such a title. Since the heavenly curtain recognized this title, that meant the Dragon God Douluo Yu Xiaogang was definitely a supreme powerhouse. He murmured to himself that he hoped the man would not let him down.

As all the children for the Martial Soul Awakening arrived, the ceremony officially began. As the son of the Sect Master, Yu Xiaogang was scheduled to make his appearance last. What followed was the awakening process of the various other disciples of the Sect.

One by one, the results were announced: Yu Xiaochuan had the Spirit Thunder Lizard with Innate Spirit Power level three. Yu Xiaofeng had the Spirit Lightning Python with Innate Spirit Power level two. Yu Xiaoyan had the Spirit Thunderfire Gorilla with Innate Spirit Power level four. Then there was Yu Xiaoxue, who had the Spirit Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon with a good Innate Spirit Power of level seven.

One youth after another completed their Martial Soul Awakening. Some were overjoyed with their results, some were dejected, and some even cried out loud. Unfortunately, the guests watching didn't cast even a single glance at those who were heartbroken. The world is just that cruel. Martial Soul Awakening is a line that separates friends who once played together into two different worlds. As the number of children left to awaken decreased, those still waiting showed very nervous expressions.

At this time, Yu Xiaogang stood out because he held his neck high with a face full of confidence. The Sect Master of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School praised him again, calling him a hero born of youth with a magnificent style. Yu Yuanzhen laughed heartily and said his son was still too flamboyant. Though he said it wasn't good, he didn't actually care. He felt that for a genius, they might be looked down upon if they weren't a bit flamboyant.

Soon, everyone except Yu Xiaogang had finished their Awakening. For a moment, the eyes of everyone at the ceremony site were focused on him. Under everyone's gaze, Yu Xiaogang glanced proudly at the children who had already finished, then he strode forward to the center of the Awakening array and stood still. As the ceremony began, an intense golden light suddenly enveloped Yu Xiaogang. Just looking at this bright light, everyone understood that his Spirit must be extremely powerful.

Yu Yuanzhen, who always had high expectations for his son, shouted "Good!" and stood up from his seat. If the final results hadn't been waiting, he probably would have started clapping right then. At this moment, his mind was already dreaming about the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect having two Titled Douluos in one family in the future.

Suddenly, the roar of a giant dragon echoed in everyone's ears. Everyone waited for the moment the Spirit would appear. Wrapped in the bright light, Yu Xiaogang also seemed to feel the power of his Spirit, so he raised his hands with excitement. He shouted for his Spirit to manifest. To everyone's huge surprise, as he spoke those words, the light enveloping him shattered with a loud bang. A small figure appeared in front of him.

There was dead silence in the room. Everyone's eyes widened as they stared in disbelief at the figure that looked like a small piglet. The small beast made a "Luo Luo" sound. It seemed frightened by everyone's staring, so it instinctively hid behind Yu Xiaogang, who was just as stunned as everyone else.
