Chapter 5 - The End of Passivity

## 1. The Fury of Level Zero

The eclipse hung over the Valley of Suffering, casting a spectral light on the carnage. Hiroshi was kneeling, holding Bella's bloody feet. The sight of the only friend he had made in that world, crucified for an act of kindness, broke the last barrier of his resignation. She was gone forever, killed for defending an innocent, for refusing to accept a cruel life.

A cold, silent fury took hold of Hiroshi. How could the men of that world be so cruel? How could the Leper King do such a thing to his own people? This was a twisted world, where the choice to be good led to death.

> **Welcome to the Golden Empire of the Leper King, located in the southern lands, on the Eastern Rash continent.**

He climbed the wooden cross, his eyes red from crying, and began to cut the ropes that bound Bella.

As he cut the last rope, some residents, who had followed Hiroshi, helped lower the body. Everyone was devastated. Bella's loss was immense, not only because of her death but because of everything she represented to the village. She had died a humiliating death, like a rebel against the king.

Hiroshi caressed Bella's hair and kissed her forehead, giving affection to his friend for the last time. He was grateful for everything she had done and prayed for the eternal rest she deserved.

## 2. The Elder's Cry

"Who did this?", Hiroshi asked, his voice low and hoarse, but charged with contained fury.

"It was Ghazu, the Captain of the soldiers," a resident replied.

The residents couldn't look at Hiroshi. His eyes, red and full of hatred, were frightening.

"Why didn't you do something to save her?", questioned an elder, his voice tired but firm. "This village deserves all this, a bunch of weaklings! They spit on us, humiliate people, and we do nothing! Bella died because of our cowardice!"

No one dared to question the elder. They knew they were not guilty of Bella's death, but they knew they were weak for accepting that situation.

"Enough!", Hiroshi said, standing up. "Let's bury Bella in a beautiful place. Put her body in a cloth and keep it in a safe place. I will take her to a place where the sun touches the ground. A beautiful and calm place that she so deserves."

Everyone nodded and smiled, despite the pain.

"You are a good boy," replied an old, fragile woman.

"I am not," Hiroshi replied, the fury burning in his eyes. "You will see what I will do."

He stood up and headed towards the village, after Ghazu. The villagers were worried and tried to convince him not to do anything, but Hiroshi did not listen.

The eclipse was still there, hanging over all the carnage.

## 3. The Useless Fury

"All the information I got was useless. The Karius Sword was useless. Everything I did was useless."

The hatred was seen by everyone who passed Hiroshi. A bad energy was with him, an aura of violence he had never felt.

Upon arriving at the village, he noticed a busy bar, full of soldiers. Hiroshi went to confront Ghazu.

He entered the bar and saw several women without clothes, while men chose who would satisfy the chief. It was disgusting, repulsive, and it corroded Hiroshi's mind.

Some soldiers saw him enter. "Get out of here, trash! This place is for soldiers!"

Hiroshi ignored them and scanned the entire bar for the captain, but he wasn't there. "Maybe he's upstairs," he thought.

He went up the stairs, but was stopped by two soldiers. Those who were sitting laughed at the situation. "The boy is crazy, he must have a problem. You know, soldiers, if someone is born with physical problems, they are no good for the king, you can kill him." The soldiers needed any excuse to kill, and so they did. The women, with empty eyes, had no strength to defend Hiroshi.

## 4. The Awakening of Strength

A swordsman quickly appeared behind Hiroshi and struck a blow to his back.

"Die, trash!", shouted the soldier, while others laughed.

**Clack!**

A sound of metal breaking. The soldier's sword shattered upon hitting Hiroshi's back. His skin was hard, harder than armor, frightening everyone.

Hiroshi, head bowed, felt his hatred increase even more.

"Attack this abomination!", shouted an old, drunk soldier.

Spears were thrown, swords hit Hiroshi, and soldiers used their agility to strike at his neck, back, and legs, but all their equipment was destroyed.

The soldiers' eyes were wide with fear and dread. They didn't understand what was happening, while Hiroshi remained with his head bowed.

"My God... save the captain!", the soldiers shouted, running to climb the stairs.

But it was too late.

Hiroshi quickly appeared next to the first one to step on the stairs and slammed his skull into the floor with a punch. Immediately after, Hiroshi turned and delivered a punch strong enough to rip off the soldier's head.

All the women screamed desperately, trying to flee the place, while the soldiers grabbed their shields to defend themselves. But it was too late. One by one, Hiroshi pierced their chests and heads with his hand, killing the soldiers in a humiliating way. Without mercy, just as they had done to Bella. His uncontrolled fury left no room for sparing anyone.

Soldiers dead. Only one was left.

Captain Ghazu was upstairs, enjoying his life of drinks and women, but not for long.
