The House That Was Never Home

I sat on the back of the moving car with Adrian, going for our honeymoon after the wedding.
His parents gave us a penthouse as our wedding gift, and that's where we will live, and also have our honeymoon.
I can't believe what happened this past week. I can't believe I'm pregnant and now married to Adrian. Everything happened so fast that I can't help but think if this was the right decision.
I've not had a conversation with Adrian since the day his parents concluded we will get married, I have tried to talk to him, looked for a way to talk to me but he kept avoiding me, and he has become so cold towards me.
I never wanted any of this, but then there's no way my mother will allow me to become a single mother, how will she be able to cater for me and my younger brother?.
I looked at Adrian, his eyes were shut, and his ears blocked with earbuds.
I debated on touching him, to talk to him , but I dismissed the Idea, we will probably talk when we get home.
I stepped down and looked around the house, I can't believe I will be living here, I can't believe this will be my new home.
Everything is happening so fast.
I hurried after Adrian as he walked into the house, he turned to me immediately we got inside.
" This house has a lot of rooms and spaces, if you really want to live in peace here, make sure you don't show your face to me, I don't want to see you or anything that looks like you in my space,if not you will regret knowing me" he snapped at me and climbed upstairs.
I tried to cry but I held myself, I won't allow that, I will not cry for him .
I cleaned the tears that rolled down my face and climbed upstairs too, I have to look for my room.
Since our stuff got here yesterday, I'm sure everything must have been arranged in our different rooms.
I finally found my room, I entered and sat on the bed, looking around and resting my bones.
The ringing of my phone woke me up, I woke up confused , I was so tired that I had slept off, I checked and it was my mom.
" How are you settling in"? She asked worriedly
" Just fine mom"
" You should have allowed me to come with you, at least for today, to help you settle in".
" That's not necessary mom, I have been depending on you my whole life, I'm married now and I will soon be a mother, I have to start learning how to take care of myself and family".
" I don't care, you're my baby, I have to take care of you, so you will take care of your own family".
" Okay mom" I said smiling, giving in to her, you can never win her over things like this.
" What about Leo, is he there"?
" No, he just went out"
" Okay mom, bye I need to go".
" Please take care of yourself, and do not hesitate to call me if you need anything, I'm always available".
" Why would I possibly need anything from you mom, I'm married now, I have my own family"
" Just make sure you call me everyday, okay?"
" Alright mom, I will take care".
I hung up to face reality.
I walked down to the kitchen after bathing and freshening up to go look for what to eat, I can't believe it's night already, I guess I really slept for a very long time.
I have been craving spaghetti with tomato sauce, paired with meatballs and grilled chicken, one of my favorite foods.
I entered the kitchen, and thankfully it was stocked up.
I sat on the dining table, devouring my food like I hadn't eaten for weeks when I heard a knock on the door. I wasn't expecting anyone, as a matter of fact my family haven't been here yet.
I stood up confused at the door, I opened it and I saw a beautiful lady standing there with some baggage.
" Hello, how can I help you"? I was confused.
She laughed out loud, she continued laughing for a long time but eventually stopped, then she looked at me condensingly.
" You? , you mean you can help me? "She asked mockingly.
" Come on, get the hell out of my way ". She pushed me away and entered the house.
I tried to talk to her but Adrian came down from his room,then she ran to him, hugging him so tightly, after hugging he kissed her deeply too.
I stood watching everything going on, my chest tightened so hard that I feared I might faint.
" Adrian, what is going on? Who is she? What are you doing"? I asked him walking towards them.
The lady laughed loudly .
" And who or what gave the right to question me? When did that start"? He asked, walking towards me.
" I have told you, if you want to have peace in this house, do not come to my space, I shouldn't see you close to me or my guests, do not, I repeat do not ever in your miserable life question me again". He barked at me.
He walked back to the lady, took her hand and walked to his room .
I stood trying to process what just happened, what Adrian just said to me, I thought he loves me, but it's clearly obvious he doesn't.
I dragged my legs to my room, I sat on my bed crying my heart out.
I can't believe I was deceived, I believed him, I believed his words.
Now I'm the only one that has to suffer for it , to suffer for our actions.
No matter what happens I must protect my child and give him all the love I can.

The constant knock on my door woke me up the next morning, what could be going on?.
I walked to the door and opened it and it was the devil that came last night.
" Why the hell are you still sleeping by this time? Aren't you supposed to make breakfast "? She snapped at me.
" And why will I be making breakfast for you"? I asked her
" Because you're a maid, have you forgotten that? You're a maid who seduced her boss and tried to tie him down with pregnancy". She responded
I hissed loudly at her.
" Well,I do not have your time " I told her and tried to close the door but she held it with her leg.
" You've got some nerve, haven't you"?
She asked then started calling out for Adrian.
He came out moments later.
" What is it"? He asked
" Look at the time, and she's still sleeping, I need to have my breakfast, I'm hungry".
She told him.
" And why aren't you going to make breakfast "?
" Because I'm not her maid" I said angrily
" The last time I checked you were one" she snapped back at me .
" Well I was, but not anymore, I can't cook for the lady my husband is sleeping with".
" Don't you dare! In your stupid and miserable life, address me as your husband again, the next time you try it, I will show you the other side of me and you will be surprised. "!! He growled at me.
I flinched with the way he talked to me, my chest hurts so bad, but I will never allow them see the weak side of me.
" Hey babe, let's go,I can't eat anything she makes though, so let's go order" He told her, holding her waist.
I looked away, trying so hard not to look at them.
" If you want to have peace here, respect yourself, I know why I keep warning you, respect yourself, do not be in a rush, because I will deal with you so hard, that you will regret all this, you will regret not removing that thing, you will end up running out of this house,I promise you that, do not be in a hurry, because I have a lot in store for you " He said to me coldly that I can feel the anger and hatred from each word.
I clutched my stomach
"Nothing will happen to you, my child.
I will protect you with everything I hold dear, I will hold on no matter what , so please hold on to me tightly because this won't be an easy journey for us " .
I spoke to my baby, even though I know he can't hear me, but I needed to do that, this is going to be a long war, and I will fight with everything, for the sake of my child.
