Synopsis
Lena Ashford died for three minutes. She remembers the water filling her lungs… the silence… and the man standing in the dark waiting for her. Death. But instead of taking her soul, he did something impossible. He let her go. Now the balance of life is breaking. People are dying too early. Shadows are moving in places they shouldn’t. And something ancient has started hunting the one being who broke the rules. To fix it, Death gives Lena a task: help him find the person who escaped fate. If she refuses, the world will keep falling apart. If she accepts, she will enter a hidden world where every soul has a price. But the deeper Lena goes, the more terrifying the truth becomes. Because the person Death is searching for… might be her. And if the universe demands payment, someone must disappear. Either Lena dies. Or Death does.

Chapter 1 - Chapter one:The Night Of The Crash

Rain slammed against Lena's windshield so hard it sounded like stones.

The road ahead blurred into silver lines.

Her phone buzzed again on the passenger seat.

Unknown Number.

She ignored it.

Buzz.

Again.

With a sigh, she grabbed it at a red light.

DO NOT CROSS THE BRIDGE.

Lena frowned.

"What?"

The message disappeared.

Another arrived.

TURN BACK. NOW.

A strange chill crawled up her arms.

The light turned green.

Cars behind her honked.

"Relax," she muttered to herself. "Probably a prank."

The bridge appeared through the storm.

Long.

Dark.

Empty.

Her phone buzzed again.

YOU ARE ABOUT TO DIE.

Before she could react—

Headlights exploded in front of her.

A truck.

Sliding.

Out of control.

Lena screamed and turned the wheel.

Metal crashed.

Glass shattered.

The guardrail snapped like paper.

Her car plunged into the river below.

Cold water swallowed everything.

Her last thought was simple.

This is how I die.

Then everything went black.
