Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: Uninvited Guest

Giving Anzu a disdainful look, Jordan Evans turned to Catherine and nodded. "No problem. Where are the transport vehicles? I can hand everything over right now."

"Parked in the station parking lot. Hmm? Hand over right now?" Catherine paused, processing the logic. She couldn't help asking doubtfully, "Do you carry those weapons with you?"

"You could say that." Jordan Evans stood. "Think of it as a superpower."

Catherine hadn't witnessed it firsthand, but she'd heard about Jordan Evans using superpowers to save many officers' lives. She wasn't particularly surprised.

When the group arrived at the parking lot, however, Jordan Evans activated his Stand ability and opened the "Private Armory" he'd obtained from Kingpin. Various types of energy weapons filled most of the parking lot.

The capable A-City specialist stood dumbfounded.

"It's all here."

"This... this... this..."

Regaining her senses from shock, Catherine disregarded her loss of composure. She immediately ordered subordinates to load weapons into vehicles, her gaze toward Jordan Evans growing increasingly intense.

It seemed that as long as Jordan agreed, she wouldn't mind if something happened between them.

Behind her, Anzu squinted, muttering to herself. "You two are such scoundrels!"

Sensing the young policewoman's rich inner thoughts through telekinesis, Jordan Evans couldn't help tilting his head slightly.

I haven't done anything yet. Why are you already insulting me?

Then you can't just insult me for nothing...

INSERT R-18 scene, Please use your Imagination

Silent night passed.

Half-asleep, Saitama heard the sound of a door closing. He groggily pushed open his bedroom door.

"Hey, it's Jordan. Are you only getting back now? Busy night?"

"Yeah, something came up. Busy all night." Jordan placed the bag he was carrying on the table. "I brought you breakfast. Come eat after you've washed up."

"Smells amazing!" Saitama sniffed the air, immediately perking up. "Got it! Washing up right away!"

When Jordan saw Catherine off that morning, she'd mentioned the commendation and promotion order from headquarters were on their way.

Previously, due to his seniority, the department head couldn't promote Jordan's rank despite wanting to. With this achievement, he should be promoted at least two ranks.

Jordan didn't care about these issues. His status as public official and hero brought certain conveniences, but these weren't the whole of life.

With his current strength, obtaining or enjoying whatever he wanted was trivial.

What distinguished humans from other animals, however, was the ability to control desires.

Those who couldn't control inner desires had long since mutated into bizarre monsters. Even if their strength increased by leaps and bounds, instantly transforming them from weaklings to Dragon-level threats, they were no different before Saitama's fist.

As a well-off young man of the new century with salary, free time, good looks, and cheat codes, Jordan Evans had no intention of trying such a loss-making transformation.

He wasn't Garou. Why become a monster instead of remaining perfectly human?

Z-City. Train Station.

A tall, fair-skinned figure stepped off the high-speed train that had just arrived. Shoulder-length black hair and the hem of her dark green dress fluttered in the wind. Her angelic face was beautiful and charming. Her devilish figure was curvaceous.

"Isn't that 'Hellish Blizzard' from the Blizzard Group? She actually came to Z-City!"

"What a gorgeous lady! I saw the news! She and her little sister are both heroes!"

"Uh, actually Fubuki is the younger sister! You fake fan!"

"Wait, she has such an amazing figure and she's the younger sister?!"

Ignoring the chattering crowd, Fubuki had long grown accustomed to being the center of attention in all environments since childhood.

Her emerald green eyes swept the surroundings. She gave a soft snort.

"As the lowest-ranked city, even its infrastructure lags far behind."

After briefly summarizing her first impression of Z-City, Fubuki strolled down the platform. Her graceful figure disappeared at the exit.

After leaving the station, Fubuki slipped into a taxi waiting for passengers roadside.

Crossing her plump, perfectly toned legs, she propped her cheek on one hand and ordered, "To the police station."

The driver had been reading a magazine to pass time, waiting for customers. Suddenly greeted by a fair-skinned, beautiful, and aloof woman sliding into his back seat, overwhelmed by her aura of nobility, he stammered, "O-okay, miss! I'll be off right away!"

The taxi sped off, burning rubber wildly in a manner inconsistent with its performance. Thick smoke and tire tracks marked its launch away from the curb.

Ten minutes later.

The seasoned Z-City driver, fueled by adrenaline, overtook other vehicles and carved a path through heavy morning rush hour traffic. He arrived at Z-City Police Station in record time.

"Miss, mission accomplished! The police station is just ahead!"

"You drove well, sir." Fubuki uncrossed her legs. A ten-thousand-yen bill floated before the driver, enveloped in telekinesis. "The extra is a tip. Thank you."

"Oh, not at all! It's my honor to serve you, Miss... Oh, she's already left."

The driver clutched the banknote, his gaze lingering absently on the graceful figure walking into the police station. He inhaled the faint fragrance still lingering in the car. His earlier enthusiasm cooled down. After a long while, he wilted like a deflated eggplant and drove away dejectedly.

Clearly, there would be one more heartbroken person in this city tonight.

Police station lobby.

Arms crossed, Fubuki raised an eyebrow. She tapped her knuckles lightly on the reception desk when the officer didn't react immediately.

The stunned duty officer snapped out of his daze. He quickly wiped drool from the corner of his mouth, straightening his back like he'd been injected with adrenaline.

"Hello, miss! I'm Officer PCZ-9421. Do you need assistance with any business, inquiries, or reports? I'd be happy to help!"

"I'm looking for someone." Fubuki's gaze swept over police officer information on the wall, finally settling on a handsome male officer's ID photo. "Him. This one."

The duty officer took a closer look. His eyes instantly blazed with jealousy. "Jordan Evans!?"

He swallowed hard. "Wait a moment. I'll contact him right away."

Special Affairs Section.

The phone on the desk rang. Anzu skillfully twisted her waist, using momentum to smoothly roll her office chair to the desk. She answered the call.

"Special Affairs Section."

The duty officer's voice came through. "This is reception. Someone's looking for Officer Jordan Evans, head of the Special Affairs Section."

"Why is someone looking for him again?"

Anzu frowned, muttering under her breath. Thinking of the ominous woman who'd arrived just yesterday, her feminine sixth sense kicked in.
