I open into a grand city bustling with veteran players, my character a short haired elf babe stands there unmoving.
Necroman, "Hello Loop, are we hunting again today?"
My fingers fly across the keyboard.
Loop, "Cool with me, though I have to finish the Mizar quest."
Necroman, "That works for me, I was also about to get her done."
Necroman a turbo virgin like myself, I don't think I have ever logged on and he wasn't already playing the game. He gave me his number a few years ago, but we have probably texted each other a total of two times. I am not trying to be harsh, he is the closest thing to a true friend in this world, though he is quite stingy when it comes to talking about woman. I sometimes wish for a friend who would just perve out with me, but hey baggers can't be choosers.
Gate of Prominence works with an open world fast travel system, but its whole selling point was the procedural generated dungeons, and once a year continent. Being that this sick fuck was around for seven years there are seven continents in total, each containing deferent enemies and drops, but the huge kicker, was the player generated quests. Basically you could buy a piece of land, make an NPC, and design a quest, that then can be accepted by any one of the level limit you choice. The only thing is you have to make and supply the quest givers with the rewards. It sounds fun at first, but it kind of became a slog. The real good quests, the ones that almost everyone has played, well they were accepted by the developers as cannon, and made true quests where the player no longer had to supply the rewards. The Mizar quest is one such quest, and you Aways know it by Mizar who has a codeveloper label glued to his name. I swear I have never seen a man so proud before.
The Mizar quest is also one of the hardest in the game but gives one of the best rewards, not to mention the drops of the enemies are also pretty good. It's like hitting three birds with one stone, or however that saying goes.
There was but a brief load time before I arrived in Bricks, a smaller city within the second continent.
Necroman was already waiting for me, his hair slicked back, and his armor dyed a thick unreflective black. When it came to edginess, my man Necroman has no competitor, at least with style, his personality is laid back. I don't think I have ever seen him mad, annoyed, or pop some strange joke, he just lives to live. Not quite what one would Imagin with his avatar.
Necroman, "Loop, yo. I already collected the amulet without you, sorry man." His avatar rubs his eyes with a sad motion.
Loop, ".... that is going to take me so long without you."
Necroman, "Bro you got to chill on the profanity, you're going to get banned."
Loop, "The day I stop swearing is the day I .... …. …. …."
Necroman, "I'm just saying I warned you."
Loop, "The day I get banned will be a sad day for humanity."
He shrugs. Necroman, "A true tragedy, one never seen before."
I make my character cross her arms. Loop, "I have one of the highest play times on this god like game, banning me would be a huge mistake."
Necroman, "Really, how many hours are we talking?"
I slide open a second tab checking. Loop, "About six thousand hours."
Necroman, "Please, don't make me laugh. I have twice that. I don't think I slept a full night sense this game released."
Loop, "That's not healthy man, are you trying to end it all?"
Necroman, "I'm young enough, I think I'll be fine."
Loop, "Wo, do I get some juicy details on you man."
Necroman, "Nope, just saying. I mean, wait, let me guess what you are."
I smile clicking the keys with anticipation. Loop, "Let's hear your best guess."
Necroman, "I mean you have been hinting at it for a while. A forty year old lesbian, who works in retail."
I laugh, I didn't know what he was going to guess, but it looks like it was just a joke. Loop, "Now what's your real guess."
Necroman, "That was my guess."
There was a long stretch of silence. Necroman, "You there?"
Loop, "Are you a girl?"
Necroman, "Where's this coming from? I think I made it plenty clear that I am a female, I thought that's why us girls formed a party? Is it not?"
I roll back in my chair clutching at my head. What is it that I just read? My eye twitches back to the screan making sure I read it right. Necroman, the guy, no, girl I told all my fantasys, was a girl. Sweat drips down my face. I even talked about stuff that should never be discused, I was speaking to a girl.
Necroman, "Is something wrong with your internet?"
Sliding back to the computer I type. Loop, "I thought you were a guy?"
here was a second long pause. Necroman "But I talked about buying bras and bikinis with you."
Loop, "I thought you were just a pervert."
Necroman, "OMG, you're a man aren't you."
Loop, "I talked about woman with you, I legit told you all of my prefaces."
Necroman, "THAT IS WHY I thought you were a lesbian, a very perverted lesbian."
Loop, "So when I asked you how you like your woman?"
Necroman, "I thought you were hitting on me."
I pull my head into my knees, clicking the keys without viewing the screen. Loop, "Youu saaid youu would have dddated mee if I wass."
Necroman, "Are you having a stroke, should I call an ambulance?"
Loop, "No, it is just you said you would date me if I was the opposite sex."
Necroman, "I wouldn't date another girl, I feel like that was obvious."
I lean in closer to the screen. "Would you still?"
Necroman, "I mean, that depends, are you underage?"
Loop, "Eighteen, senior year in highschool."
Necroman, "Bro you might as well be doxing yourself, but same here. I work at a teck shop repairing computers and junk, that's how I get enough money to play this game."
Loop, "So is that a yes."
Necroman, "I mean, we can give it a try, not to dox you even further, but where do you live?"
Loop, "Tokio."
Necroman, "Wonna meet up?"
I hover over the enter key. Am I leting my hornyness take advantage of me? Maybe I should think this through, she could be an axe murdiror for all I know. My finger slips pressing the botton. Loop, "Sure, what place and what time?"
There was a long long silence, but then she returned. Necroman "I got reservations in a small restaurant, you should feel honored."
Loop, "Bro, I don't got that kind of money."
Necroman, "Really? Well, I don't either."
We once more are left in silence. Loop, "Cool if we just meet up, no cash involved."
Necroman, "That's probably for the best."
Loop, "I'm basically free any day, so feel free."
Necroman, "Tomorrow night then, just after school, lets meet here…" She precedes to give me a location of a tech shop, must be the one she works at.
