Chapter 3
For someone like Qi Feng, who was basically a shut-in otaku, researching and practicing his Quirks at home was an extremely meaningful activity. Up to now, he had already become familiar with the basic usage of his Thunder Quirk and Air Manipulation.
He opened his right hand, and strands of blue electricity crackled and snapped in the air. With a thought from Qi Feng, the blue current instantly shot toward the glass cup on the washbasin five meters away.
Without any surprise, the glass cup was shattered by the blue electricity, and the fragments fell toward the ground. Qi Feng waved his left hand, and an invisible force appeared—the glass fragments actually hovered in mid-air and flew straight into the trash can.
Looking at his hands, each possessing two different powers, Qi Feng gave a slight smile. "It's time to apply for studying abroad in the island nation."
Most of the powerful figures were in the island nation right now. The various major forces were still in a relatively stable period—for now. Once the sludge incident arrived, a new era would officially open its curtain.
Qi Feng didn't need to worry about not knowing Japanese in the island nation. When he transmigrated into this body, the original owner was proficient in eight languages and was the top-tier genius type in academics. All those talents had naturally been inherited by him after the transmigration.
Back in China, there was an organization specifically dedicated to supporting underprivileged households—especially outstanding students like Qi Feng with top grades. They were more than happy to help.
Going to the island nation was mainly just a matter of handling the visa. Because it was for studying abroad, the visa duration was extended. The local department had reminded Qi Feng that once he arrived, he would have to be self-reliant—after all, even with support, they couldn't cover his monthly living expenses.
Qi Feng had immediately patted his chest and guaranteed that once he got there, everything would be on him.
The study-abroad procedures went very smoothly. After all, this world was different from his original one—some things that seemed complicated here weren't considered complicated at all.
He checked the time: departure on October 15th. That meant in one week, Qi Feng would set foot in the island nation and experience the so-called world of heroes firsthand.
Qi Feng was extremely excited about this. Could he change some of the unchangeable events from the anime?
Midoriya was the protagonist in this world, no doubt. But Qi Feng had his own protagonist halo too. As for who was stronger and who was weaker… that remained to be seen. After all, he hadn't clashed with One For All yet.
One week later.
With his luggage packed, Qi Feng was already on the plane heading to the island nation. Over these past days, he had saved up quite a bit of money—mostly taken from those delinquents with Quirks. He had converted it all to Japanese yen: over 160,000 yen, equivalent to about 10,000 RMB.
This amount was more than enough for Qi Feng. Of course, now that he was stepping into the main stage of heroes, he couldn't recklessly take money from delinquents like before. He had to keep a low profile.
Right after getting off the plane, as Qi Feng was preparing to hail a taxi to Hirakawa High School, an explosion sounded from his left.
Boom!
"Get out of the way! I'm gonna kill this guy!" A hoarse roar came from within the explosion. Once the black smoke cleared, Qi Feng saw a man with massively enlarged arms standing in front of another man who was already collapsed on the ground, trembling in fear.
"A Quirk misuse and violence incident?" Qi Feng rubbed his forehead. He had only just gotten off the plane and hadn't even left the airport yet, and he was already running into something like this.
The island nation truly lived up to its reputation as the land of heroes—even the crime rate was this high.
Compared to back home, where he had spent over a month and never heard of crimes happening right at the airport, he encounters it the moment he arrives here.
"Don't kill me! I'll give you all my money—everything!" The greasy middle-aged man on the ground said while shaking, his eyes full of terror.
The man with the huge arms clearly had a strength-type Quirk, but it was limited to enlarging his arms and granting them superhuman power.
"I did everything you told me to! And you? You actually tried to sneak away behind my back? You are unforgivable!" The more the arm-enhanced man spoke, the angrier he became. He raised his right arm, ready to smash down.
As a human, Qi Feng usually didn't like meddling in other people's business, but this Salvation System made it impossible for him to ignore.
Right now, he was secretly building up power, approaching the enraged man, intending to take him down in one strike.
Just as Qi Feng was still about ten meters away and preparing to launch with his feet, a silver figure suddenly flashed past him at high speed. With one kick, it sent the huge-armed muscular man flying.
"Criminal captured!" The man in silver armor raised his hand in a sweeping gesture, then extended his right hand toward the fallen man on the ground. "Are you alright?"
"Waaah~ Thank you so much, Ingenium!" The middle-aged man burst into tears and instantly threw himself onto the silver-armored hero.
The huge-armed muscular man had already been subdued by the police. A crowd had gathered inside the airport, and when they saw Ingenium, they immediately cheered: "Hero! Ingenium! Hero! Ingenium!"
"It's really Ingenium!" Someone in the newly arrived crowd exclaimed in shock.
Ingenium—real name Iida Tensei, the famous Turbo Hero. He ran a large hero agency in Tokyo with 65 employees. He was Iida Tenya's older brother.
Qi Feng silently recited the name. He hadn't expected to encounter a pro hero like Ingenium right here. No doubt about it—pro heroes were on another level. One kick and the huge-armed muscular guy was knocked out cold.
Although Qi Feng had been about to make a move earlier, he wasn't confident he could take the guy down in one hit. After all, his Thunder God Descent Quirk was only at lv1. He believed he could repel the opponent, but knocking him out in a single strike? Not very likely.
"Please maintain order and leave the area. We will take the criminal into custody and bring him to justice," Ingenium said righteously while dispersing the crowd.
Once the crowd had mostly cleared, Ingenium escorted the criminal into the police car. Before leaving, his gaze briefly glanced toward Qi Feng, who was standing by a vending machine. He felt slightly surprised.
When he had subdued the huge-armed man earlier, he had sensed that this boy seemed about to intervene.
But now, looking at him, the boy appeared completely ordinary. He couldn't sense what Quirk the boy had—if any.
Normally, even people with Quirks wouldn't get involved, let alone try to stop a criminal. Yet this boy seemed different.
After closing the car door, with the sound of sirens, Ingenium departed.
Qi Feng inserted a few coins into the drink vending machine. With a clunk, a bottle of orange-colored drink with Japanese labeling dropped down. He opened it, took a sip, and walked toward the exit.
As he left the airport, the crowd was still discussing the earlier Ingenium incident. It seemed the people here truly idolized heroes—as if whenever a hero appeared, nothing was unsolvable.
The citizens of this country seemed exceptionally carefree. They weren't terrified by the violence of crimes, nor frightened by the darkness. In an era ruled by heroes, that darkness seemed trivial.
Only Qi Feng knew that this world was about to undergo a major shift. The darkness was coming.
