Chapter 5 - Mosquito Girl

The noisy clamor outside, combined with the ringing of the alarm clock on Saitama's nightstand, successfully woke him up.

Saitama stared at the ceiling, his mind still filled with the Subterraneans he had dreamed about last night. He frowned suddenly, wanting to smash the annoying alarm clock that was still blaring beside him.

But at that moment, Rimuru's previous warning echoed in his ears: "If you break one more thing in your room, I'll starve you for three days!!"

Saitama's fist, which was just about to strike, stopped directly above the alarm clock. At this moment, his fist was only a hair's breadth away from it.

He turned his head to look at the still-ringing alarm, reached out to stop it, and finally heard clearly what the commotion outside was about.

"The surface world shall be taken by us Subterraneans!!!"

Hearing this, Saitama immediately leaped out of bed. Even his simple, boiled egg-like face became more detailed and resolute. He put on his skin-tight combat suit as fast as possible and pulled open the curtains, letting the sunlight flood the room.

He prepared to open the window and jump down, eager to have a hearty battle with the group of Subterraneans from his dream.

Saitama was extremely excited; he never expected that what he dreamed of last night would actually come true today. This was fantastic!!

However, just as the extremely excited Saitama was about to open the window, his face immediately soured the moment he saw the scene outside. A petite figure wearing an animal onesie was already down there.

Moreover, she looked furious. She was clutching the ankle of the Younger Brother King—who was vastly different from the tall, imposing Subterranean King in his dream—like she was holding a little chick, slamming him back and forth against the road.

"I'll give you the surface world! How dare you wake me up! How dare you keep yapping outside!!"

Rimuru cursed angrily while slamming him, her strength increasing with each strike, as evidenced by the large craters being formed in the pavement.

The detailed lines that had just appeared on Saitama's face vanished once more, returning to his boiled egg look. This Subterranean King... was so different from the one in his dream... He shouldn't be called the Subterranean King, but rather the Younger Brother King.

The Younger Brother King was slammed heavily onto the road by Rimuru, instantly smashing out a large pit. He lost consciousness from the massive impact in an instant.

Rimuru and Saitama, who was standing by the window upstairs, both turned their gaze toward the group of Subterraneans huddled nearby. However, the moment Rimuru looked at them, they instantly burrowed into the ground, sticking out a white flag with the crookedly written words: [We were wrong, we'll never dare disturb your sleep again.]

"Ah, this... so in the end, I still couldn't find an opponent to fight." Saitama sighed deeply and took off his skin-tight suit. He wanted to go back to sleep, but he was the type of person who couldn't fall back asleep once he woke up.

He was completely different from Rimuru, who could fall back asleep almost immediately after waking up... wait, no, he was completely different from a Slime. Helplessly, he changed into a bright yellow shirt and began to tidy up his room bit by bit.

Don't expect Rimuru to do any housework. It was already good enough if she didn't get in Saitama's way. This was the profound conclusion Saitama had reached after asking Rimuru to help him tidy the house before.

After tidying his room, he went to the living room to start cleaning. While cleaning, he specifically glanced at the dining table. Seeing that the clay pot was indeed gone, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly. As expected, Rimuru was still that gluttonous Rimuru.

After cleaning the living room, he headed to the bathroom and picked up the toy green elephant watering can that was kept under the sink.

He filled the watering can with water and walked out to the balcony. It was clear to see that on the entire large balcony, there was only a single, lonely cactus. It couldn't be helped; although it was a pity not to plant anything in such a large space, this was the only plant Saitama could keep alive. As for Rimuru, that was even more out of the question—she couldn't even keep a cactus alive.

Saitama squatted in front of the cactus and used the toy watering can to water it. Soon, the soil in the pot was soaked through, and water began to pool in the tray underneath.

"...I'm telling you, Saitama, if this cactus could talk, it would definitely give you a piece of its mind, using your parents as the center and your entire family tree as the radius. Who in their right mind waters a cactus like that!"

Rimuru was eating an apple, having returned home at some point. She leaned against the frame of the sliding door to the balcony with her arms crossed, looking at Saitama with deadpan eyes and roasting him mercilessly.

However, just as Saitama was about to retort, a mosquito landed on the back of his hand holding the watering can.

Saitama slapped it immediately. The powerful wind from his palm even momentarily diverted the stream of water from the watering can, but the mosquito flew out from between his fingers completely unharmed.

An interested look immediately appeared on Rimuru's small face. Oh my, is Episode 2 starting already? That was fast.

While thinking this, she took small bites of her apple. She had no intention of helping at all, smiling as she watched the strongest man on Earth frantically try to swat a mosquito.

"Damn it! Why won't this stupid mosquito land on you!!" Saitama asked Rimuru in an extremely annoyed tone while frantically swatting at the mosquito.

"Who knows? Maybe it's because your blood is tasty, while I'm a Slime and don't have any blood." A more mischievous smile appeared on Rimuru's face.

"Then come and help me!!!" Saitama became even more annoyed upon hearing Rimuru's words, turning his anger toward the mosquito and swatting even more violently.

"It keeps flying around you, so it's hard for me to make a move. It wouldn't be good if I accidentally hit my only friend, right? It would break my heart."

In reality, Rimuru just wanted to see Saitama being toyed with by a mosquito out of spite, which was why she deliberately refused to help.

Hearing Rimuru's words, Saitama felt a bit touched despite his struggle. It seemed his sacrifice last night—not eating much and leaving most of the food for her—wasn't in vain. This little girl was quite kind after all.

Thinking this, Saitama stopped asking Rimuru for help and focused on trying to eliminate the annoying mosquito himself.

At the entrance of Z City, the blond cyborg from yesterday walked in expressionlessly. If Rimuru were here, she would recognize him at a glance as the Demon Cyborg Genos, also known as the Budget Warrior.

He seemed to be scanning for something with his mechanical eyes. Finally, his gaze settled on a small swarm of mosquitoes in the distance, and he immediately gave chase.

However, what Genos didn't notice was that those mosquitoes were flying and stopping as if they were mocking him, deliberately trying to lead him somewhere.

Once the swarm had led Genos to the location set by their instructions, they stopped in place without any further movement, as if waiting for him.

However, what the swarm met was not Genos himself, but the powerful flames he released, accompanied by the word, "Incinerate."

In an instant, the mosquito swarm that had been blotting out the sky was incinerated into ash. The slightly damaged street was cleared, with not a single mosquito left in sight.

At that moment, a figure that looked like a mosquito spirit—the curvaceous and hot Mosquito Girl—appeared in mid-air.

"Was all of this your doing?" Genos looked up at Mosquito Girl in the air, his voice devoid of any emotion.

Mosquito Girl didn't speak, a mocking expression appearing on her face.

Seeing this expression, Genos knew what was going on. He stopped questioning, and the two of them began to battle, trading blows back and forth.

Soon, both sides had sustained damage. Genos's left arm was torn off by the long needle on Mosquito Girl's head, while Mosquito Girl's legs were ripped off by Genos and tossed aside on the ground.

Just as Mosquito Girl recalled all the mosquitoes she had sent out, Saitama appeared, holding a bottle of mosquito spray, chasing that one mosquito while cursing.

However, Saitama forgot that he was running against the wind. The spray couldn't reach the mosquito at all and even ended up in his own mouth.

Saitama felt a burst of bitterness in his mouth and immediately stopped. "Ptooey! It got in my mouth, damn it!"

When Genos saw Saitama, his pupils contracted for a moment. This was the bald man who was walking with that little girl who used the powerful fire tornado yesterday. Why was he here?

While Genos was thinking, a youthful yet somewhat charming laugh reached his ears.

"Pwahaha!! Saitama, you big idiot." Rimuru had changed out of her animal onesie into a deep green tracksuit at some point, with the word 'Liyue' written on both sides of her chest. She was also wearing Miss Shizu's mask, which she had bought from the system mall last night.

Genos turned to look and saw the masked Rimuru, but he didn't pay her much mind. Currently, Rimuru wasn't emitting any magicules; they were all suppressed by the mask on her face, making her seem like an ordinary person.

"You two, leave this place immediately! It's dangerous!" Genos kindly warned Saitama and Rimuru.

Although this bald man had left with that little girl yesterday, Genos hadn't seen the scene where Saitama killed the King of the Biceps with one punch. Thus, he believed Saitama had no combat ability and warned him to quickly take this masked Little fellow and leave the area.
