"I do. Oh, actually no, I do, but those were taken for the lab interns as souvenirs. Yes, they were taken for the interns as souvenirs," Peter quickly explained.
His lying skills were not very refined. His lies were disjointed, and he only barely managed to cover them up in the end.
"Is that so?" Gwen clearly did not believe this excuse and looked at Peter with a slightly suspicious gaze. Of course, she knew Peter was lying.
But she did not want to pursue it. In fact, she really liked Peter's infatuation with her. It made her heart beat faster.
"Ah! Yes!" Peter said, appearing somewhat flustered.
"I'm so sorry, Gwen. I broke our date. I was supposed to go to your house for dinner, but I... I'm sorry."
"No, Peter. Do not say such things. With Uncle Ben injured, did you expect to calmly have dinner with me?" Gwen said with a kind and understanding smile.
The two looked at each other. Sparks and electricity flashed in their eyes.
"It's quite lively here. It seems I did not come at the right time," Natasha walked in wearing a pure white dress and smiled.
"Peter, who is she?" Gwen glanced at Natasha, then looked at Peter and asked.
At this moment, a dangerous glint flashed in her eyes.
Peter was pretty much her almost-boyfriend now. If he were to find another woman at this point, she would undoubtedly slap him without a second thought.
But poor Peter did not realize his predicament and instead happily introduced Natasha to Gwen.
"Gwen, if Ms. Natasha had not intervened last night, I might never have seen Uncle Ben again. You could say she is my benefactor."
"Uncle Ben, this is Ms. Natasha," Peter Parker turned to introduce her to Ben Parker.
"Thank you very much, beautiful Ms. Natasha," Ben Parker looked at Natasha and Gwen, chuckling as he thanked her.
"You all chat. Old people always get a little sleepy," Ben Parker mumbled. He pulled up his blanket and closed his eyes.
To avoid disturbing his uncle's rest, Peter Parker led Gwen out of the ward and introduced her to Natasha, "Ms. Natasha, this is Gwen Stacy."
"Hello, Ms. Natasha. I thank you for your help on Peter's behalf," Gwen thanked her.
Clearly, even though Peter had explained his relationship with Natasha, she felt hostile towards this woman who was even prettier and more charming than her.
Natasha raised an eyebrow slightly. She glanced at Gwen, then at Peter, and immediately understood. This young girl had apparently taken her for a love rival.
However, she was not interested in children, but she did not mind giving Peter a little push.
"Oh? Thank me on Peter's behalf? Then from what standpoint are you thanking me on his behalf?" Natasha asked, crossing her arms with a slight smile playing on her lips.
"Of course, he is his..." Gwen paused. From what standpoint was she? Colleague? Too far-fetched. Friend? Would Peter think I rejected him?
For a moment, Gwen was quite conflicted internally, but seeing the woman in front of her, who was prettier and more charming than herself, Gwen immediately replied, "Of course, from the standpoint of Peter's girlfriend."
Peter Parker's eyes widened instantly as he looked at Gwen in disbelief. Gwen's face was a little red, but she still glared at Natasha.
Natasha smiled, reached out and patted Peter Parker's shoulder, and chuckled, "Gwen is a good girl. You should cherish her."
"I will, Ms. Natasha," Peter Parker adjusted his mindset and quickly replied.
"Since Mr. Parker is fine, I should go too." Natasha smiled sweetly, turned, and left the hospital.
"I suddenly remembered I have some things to do at the company. I'll be leaving first," Gwen's face was slightly red, and her gaze towards Peter was a little evasive. She also got up and quickly departed.
Peter Parker watched Gwen leave, feeling a bit lost, and re-entered the ward to stay by his uncle's side.
"That girl is nice. Are you pursuing her? Then you need to work harder, Peter. Good girls are in high demand. And I also think Ms. Natasha is very nice."
"Oh! Please, Uncle Ben, do not talk nonsense. Gwen has already agreed to be my girlfriend," Peter said.
"Is that so? Lucky kid," Ben Parker said.
"How is it? Did you get any new abilities?" Natasha asked curiously. It was truly unusual to be apart from Ren for a whole day.
"You can swing between tall buildings now," Ren said with a chuckle.
"What?" Natasha looked bewildered. What did swinging between tall buildings mean?
"Never mind. You will know once you feel it yourself," Ren said. He directly enveloped Natasha completely, transforming into a form-fitting suit.
Ren could clearly feel the touch of Natasha's skin.
It was a pity, though. He could only feel it. He could not do anything else.
Natasha looked at her black combat suit and liked it very much. It was entirely black, with Black Widow spider patterns on the chest and back, and a hood, making it very stylish.
"Put your hands on the wall. Then climb up," Ren instructed.
Although Natasha found it a bit strange, she still followed Ren's words. To her surprise, she really stuck to the wall.
"Is this his ability? Spiders can climb walls," Natasha slowly climbed upwards. This peculiar ability made her very excited.
"More than that. Look at a spot, then reach out and try to shoot a web," Ren urged.
Natasha leaned against the wall, looked at the wall of the opposite building, focused on a spot, and reached out. A stream of white web shot from her wrist, sticking to the opposite wall.
"Wow! That's amazing," Natasha's beautiful eyes sparkled with surprise.
"Not only that. Your jumping ability, strength, and hearing have all greatly increased, and you can also sense danger in advance to dodge it," Ren said calmly.
"Cool. I cannot imagine how powerful you would be if you copied the genes of all mutants or superpowered individuals, or rather, how powerful your host would become," Natasha could not help but exclaim.
This spider's ability alone could give her such a big boost. What about the Hulk later? Or other mutants or superheroes?
For the first time, Natasha felt that this alien symbiote was truly a treasure.
"By the way, you once said that your race is called Venom. Are other Venoms as powerful as you?" Natasha asked curiously.
"Of course not. I am special. Other Venoms are not as powerful as me. Now you know how lucky you are that I chose to be your symbiote, right?" Ren said proudly.
"Hmph, conceited!" Natasha pouted.
Although she did not want to admit it, it was true that Ren choosing her was indeed an honor for her.
