Amina noticed some whispers among friends. One of Leila's old classmates seemed unusually attentive. A pang of jealousy hit, sharp and unfamiliar.
Leila noticed Amina's sudden silence. "Hey… are you okay?" she asked, concern lacing her voice.
Amina looked down. "I… I guess I'm just… not used to this," she admitted.
